  1. Correct! You need an in-tact factory rear trunnion so DO NOT modify... I'm pretty happy with the design, fit, ease of installation, etc... haven't completed the conversion yet so I haven't shot it yet... Thanks
  2. It doesn't appear to be an issue for me looking at the irons. I just lay the stock against my upper cheekbone & have a good sight picture.... But then again,,, I haven't shot AKs all that much. Maybe it's a non- issue for me because I can't really compare to a traditional AK... Although I have shot saiga 12s, Yugo underfolders, and this unconverted saiga 7.62. Don't notice a difference.
  3. Take a look at the new Rifle Dynamics AK to M4 stock adaptor review I did. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/80317-rifle-dynamics-m4-stock-adaptor-rdak-m-4/
  4. And finally,,, a view with the adaptor fully installed, with my MagPul CTR added... Unfortunately, I dont have all the parts to complete the conversion on hand but you get the point... My thoughts: I haven't had the opportunity to jump up & down on the thing but it definitely feels sturdy & all the parts fit nice & snug. Both parts are aluminum, which has to be more than strong enough to support any AR stock/buffer tube combo you wanna slap onto it. The design is awesome... The way the two parts connect onto the trunnion/receiver provide for a solid fit. I lik
  5. Hello all. I just got got my Rifle Dynamics M4 stock adaptor in for my Saiga 7.62. It arrived today so I figured I'd do a review on it & provide some pics. Here we go: It's a two piece kit. One part screws directly onto the rear trunnion WITHOUT having to cut/or modify the tang at all... It also serves as a connection point for the second part...Pretty slick... As for the second part, the buffer tube connects into it... It's a MilSpec buffer tube diameter/thread size, and allows for the use of a MilSpec receiver end plate & extension nut. I have a new Saiga 7.62 that i've been mean
  6. Converting a Saiga 7.62 & looking for a 90 degree gas block w/bayonet lug. Let me know. Thanks Prez
  7. Sorry... for a 7.62... The 90 degree AK74 gas blocks works I think. I want one with a bayonet lug...
  8. Anyone else fix something like this? It's an HS Precision on a Remington 700P. Bondo filler? Marine Tex filler? Thanks
  9. I bought one those internal trunnions a while back. For me i thought it sucked but it's soooo close to being a winner. SGM will have to take it back to the drawing board. Take a look at the post I created: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/61833-sgm-internal-trunion-mount/page__fromsearch__1
  10. Hello folks. I originally thought of installing one of the SGM Tactical rear trunnion mounts on my gun but eventually changed my mind because that mount didn't quite do it for me & I'm thinking of going with the rear trunnion with the tang cut off & a R&R stock adaptor... Unfortunately, I removed my rear trunnion before changing my mind... :-( Now I need to re-install it & I'm not quite sure how to do that. I wouldn't know where to start on how to rivet it back onto the receiver. Anyone out have experience re-riveting (or any other method of re-installing) the trunnion
  11. Part 2... Ugly grinding away of the area where the "Russian American Arms Co." stamp normally is... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is going on with that!?!?!? Side-by-side with my converted non-LRBHO Saiga-12... Some may wonder if the LRBHO housing would be in the way if converted. I'm not 100% sure but it looks like there's enough room. My converted Saiga-12 has a Tromix trigger group, Carolina SS trigger guard, SAW grip. I plan on converting the LRBHO model. I'll keep you posted... Other notes: I haven't fired the thing yet but did some test loading with 2 3/4" Winchester slu
  12. Hello all. I just picked up my S-12 from K-Var... Friggin ordered the thing over a month ago but it's finally here. Here's a quick review & pics: 5-round mag comparison: On the LEFT, the factory 5-rounder I got with my non-LRBHO Saiga... On the RIGHT, the one that came with the LRBHO Saiga (IZ-109BHO) View from the rear... Pretty similar View from the top... Notice that the mag body is thinner in the rear & has a notch added to the back of the follower. This notch engages the LRBHO after the last shell is fired. This pic doesn't show it but on the new mag, the follower co
  13. Good info Plastik. When you install the trunnion mount, let me know what you think about the bottom of the mount digging into the top of your hand. I'm curious what others think about this... I'm actually thinking of cutting the bottom off & duracoating the whole gun...
