  1. I'm pretty sure this question is floating around somewhere, but where can I get a replacement or spare bolt carrier? The reason for it, is I'm planning on converting my 7.62x39 sporter. Instead of drilling and changing out the gas piston, I rather get a spare and do it. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong, I should change it. Any input or direction toward getting one would be appreciated, thanks!!!
  2. I'm new here, new to Saigas, and would appreciate a little help. I live in Texas -a pistol grip and high capacity magazine friendly State, and have a Saiga 7.62 and a Saiga 12 on their way. This was a post EO buy I regret and my procrastination cost me this time. I'm trying to find out if putting pistol grips and high capacity mags on both of them would require a conversion kit by law. Also, I would like to eventually get real wood furniture for the 47 and wonder if that would affect it's import compliance or make it need a conversion by law. I think the pistol grip question would cover t
  3. I haven't been around for awhile, been working on other projects away from Saiga rifles and shotguns. Some of you may use my 922r calculator. I get about 17 hits per day which is a lot, considering it is a fairly obscure topic. http://jobson.us/922r/ I recently made the project open source, so anyone can clone it as long as they follow the very basic license which is included with the files. https://github.com/pjobson/922r Basically, this means that if my calculator disappears for some reason, you can always get a copy from github.com and host it yourself on your own web p

  5. I recently purchased a Saiga .410 from a private owner and was interested in doing some conversion to it and found out about the 922r compliance issues. I am a hunter and thats what I intend to use this shotgun for. I have a Gen 1 .410 stamped '94 so it has the nonadjustable gas plug and only fires the 3" shells. I only plan on using the 4 rd factory magazines as I have 3 of them but I do appreciate the form factor and ergonomics of an adjustable stock and pistol grip. Now from what I have read, the minute I throw a pistol grip on the gun it is no longer considered a sporting rifle/shotgun
  6. If for some reason the 2013 AWB Passes ... Would our newly classified NFA Guns need to be 922r Compliant?

  8. Does anyone know if a Tapco AK47/74 piston will fit in a Vepr .308 that doesn't have integrated sights? If not does anyone know who makes one that will? I'm trying to make it 922r compliant without changing out the factory stock. Thanks
  9. 10. I am making my own custom furniture from some gorgeous bubinga waterfall lumber I picked up. Just wondering if this would count towards 922r?
  11. My intention for the IZ 332 was to keep the factory monte carlo stock and add a muzzle brake. What I didn't realize, till recently, is that if I add a muzzle brake, I would effectivley need to comply with the 922R regulation. From what I've read so far, I need 6 U.S. made parts to make this work. I would like anyone's opinion on how I could achieve this as simple and economical as possible. I have no metal fabrication skills so anything requiring precision drilling, cutting, etc, is probably not a good idea. My only idea right now is purchase the following U.S. made parts: - Muz
  12. How are these being installed. ??? Since they are only about $8 I was wondering do you just drop them infront of the gas piston and thats it? I'm surprise that counts as a part if your not removing any russian part. If that is all there is to it... Maybe I'm wrong? I didn't see this in any pervious post that I searched...
  13. recently made purchase on new saiga .223 n wanting to put on ak74 style muzzle brake http://store.carolin...KE-SAIGA/Detail by installing this i know that it'll trigger 922r...but my question is do i have to add bullet button as well??... i don't have pistol grip and not planning on it. as for conversion parts, i have surefire magazine (-3), muzzle brake (-1), planning on gas piston (-1), no pistol grip (-1)..so that makes 10 parts from 16 total... here's picture of my rifle
