  1. I accept Paypal gift option only. Shipping via USPS Priority mail flat-rate box with delivery confirmation (included in my price) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For sale is a Tapco stock and pistol grip for Saiga conversions or non-converted Saigas. These retail for $60 new (before shipping). I'm asking $45 shipped. It comes as shown in like-new condition with the hardware included. First "I'll take it" gets it.
  2. The primary purpose of our 410 will be home defense. We'll probably go out and shoot trap for fun a couple times a year, but that's probably it. I don't mind spending some money over time to set this up right. The idea is that it's fairly easy for my wife to handle, while still providing decent stopping power in home defense situations. Based on thorough review of the forums, here are my thoughts: Pistol Grip Conversion Shorter Barrel (more maneuverability in tight spaces) Muzzel Brake (decrease kick if possible) Adjustable Folding Stock Laser/Flashlight Combo - Foregrip
  3. During my conversion. I did this: I went a little wide drilling out the bottom rivet that sits in front of the converted trigger position. Im thinking this will have zero effect on the function of the gun. Any input is appreciated. Yes I know I did a complete amateur job on my conversion. Im not a handy person and this is the only mistake I made.
  4. I'm new to the AK world and am just finishing my first conversion. Please share your opinions on your choices for the best night site. Thanks!0
  5. Hi Everyone, I bought a new RWC imported 24" model with adjustable rib sight knowing that I would not be able to do a trigger group conversion due to NJ's State AWB. I plan to use it for casual skeet/trap and steel matches. In NJ a semi-auto shotgun is not allowed to have a "well defined handle, similar to that found on a handgun, that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, and which permits the firearm to be held and fired with one hand" and folks have reported back that the state police consider thumb hole and skeleton stocks as making semi-auto's into assault weapons.
  6. I am having issues with removing the FCG from the gun. I talked to some friends who completed this process but it was a while back and couldnt remember how exactly they did it. All the videos i see on the net are for the 7.62x39 which requires two rivets to be drilled out. the 308 is a little different and it has some pins that seem to have a larger diameter on both sides of the left side opening and I was wondering if someone can shed some light on how to do this without ruining my gun. Ive attached two pics to show what i am talking about. Can anyone help??
  7. Hi all. I am in the middle of a 308 conversion. I got a complete conversion from CSS. Almost everything is done and I am reassembling the FCG. When the rifle is almost complete with the trigger/spring/hammer and retaining plate, during function checks the leg on the right side of the spring moves from the rear of the trigger (where its supposed to be) and falls inside of the trigger group. The spring is the factory one, and the rifle only has one "hook" in the receiver. This causes malfunctions and the trigger will not reset/clear with it falling in there. I know I am installing it rig

  9. So I have ordered a basic conversion kit from CSS.(great service) Along with that I have a vice punchs needle nose pliers rubber mallot thread locker paint drill and 3/16 bit pos dremmel( hope not to need) an s20 that cycles it all a new us made puc waiting on butt stock and hand guard Is there anything specific to the s20 I need to know? spring bends? notches? , blessings or pre conversion rituals? I have read, reread and watched a bunch of videos on converting various saigas. I have not found any detailed videos or picture threads on s20 specific conversion. Thanks for
  10. I just purchased an S-12 conversion kit with a Kicklite buttstock. My problem is both the factory buttstock and the kicklite use the factory trigger guard for its bottom mount. Don't I need to cut that off to do the conversion? If that's the case what holds the bottom of the new butstock?
  11. So, I was browsing J&G Sales when I happened upon this: From J&G Sales Item #1-1995xq It looks pretty good but the bad news is that it looks like Century my be doing the conversions, which could lead to what might otherwise be perfectly acceptable rifles getting a bad reputation the way WASRs do. If they're decent rifles, I'd hate to see the PAP smeared. Anyway, it looks interesting. I'm not $700 worth of interested in it, but it might be someone else's cup of tea.
  12. So have any of you used this http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=17815&cat=281&page=1 bullet guide in your conversion? What size hole did you drill and tap, what screw did you use to attach it? I would really like to use that bullet guide because it is profiled to guide the bullets in from both sides of the magazine.
  13. Which gunsmiths in Columbus, OH (and surrounding area) are capable and recommended for Saiga 12 work?
  14. I received my new 16" Saiga .308 today and immediately began the conversion process. I got through some of it but I am stuck not knowing quite what to do in a couple of areas. First, I saw a video that shows pins that have to be removed for the old firing group. Mine did not have pins in the old locations. They were already located in the new locations with what I have to believe is a different firing group than the old rifles. I was able to bang the rear pin out to the point that it is now partially out but cocked to one side inside the receiver. It seems to be stuck because it has a good
  15. Well, Phase 1 is complete! My Saiga 12 is now 922r compliant, looks better and feels better to use! Thanks to Cadiz for the gun, and thanks to CSS for Conversion Kit#4 in Dark Earth, plus the Magpul Enhanced recoil pad. I took me several hours to do this, since it was my first conversion. I used a whetstone to polish up some of the contact points on the hammer, bolt carrier and bolt. I also took a couple of breaks to watch the CSS videos again. Had a few minor difficulties, but at last I was triumphant! Oh yeah... there's more to come. Just need some more fundage.
  16. If you were to purchase a converted Saiga-12 today, which manufacturer would you choose? Why?
  17. Hey Saiga enthusiasts, Here is my "evolution in progress". Wanted to blend the best of both wolds: AR upgradeability and conveniences with AK robustness and reliability. Let's see it in process of conversion. As received: As assembled: As disassembled/field stripped: Stripped receiver: "Poor peasant's" stocked version: Customized and polished G2 FCG, Hogue PG, OEM-style trigger guard, CSS bullet guide (all from Carolina Shooters Supply). With (heavily hacked) MSA AR mag adapter, Magpul MOE stock, PMAG, and StrikeHard Gear chest rig and MOLLE bayo adapter. ACE mech from CSS; plate
  18. Im still trying to figure out what the heck I am looking for in a conversion, and theres no real all encompassing FCG topic/comparison. What are the benefits, advantages, disadvantages etc to your favorite? What is it you are looking for in feel, performance, and function when you are choosing your FCG? I tried to start a poll, but something got lost and it didn't come out, so I'll post the FCG's I've been able to find on the interweb: Factory FCG Tromix Modified G2 Single Hook Trigger Kit TAPCO Double Hook G2 FCG TAPCO Single Hook G2 FCG Arsenal single stage tri
  19. Hi All, I've been lurking for the past month or so and reading all over, trying to find answers to a conversion question. I recently got x2 7.62x39 Saigas with the expectation that I'd convert them. I have limited firearms experience, and this is my first foray into AK territory (I have put about 150 rounds through my Mini-30). I have been looking on Carolina Shooters Supply, but am a bit overwhelmed with all of the conversion kits listed there. What conversion kit would you get, and why? I also see you can upgrade a few other items like grip, hammer spring and extended bolt handle... would yo
  20. so here it is, i just finished about a month ago and i converted it before i shot it once but well worth the wait. the family took me about 2 hours including waiting for paint to dry, im very happy with it and its my new favorite gun. only problem iv'e had is the JTE spring falling off the trigger legs, altho i thought its not suppose to do that but i gave it a couple bends and no problems since then. all thats left to do it ship out to Pauly's Steelin' Custom Fabrication to have bottom polished, media blast & treated to look gray -IZ109 -4
