I've always been a plastic gun fan and have a few, but my fiance picked up at Smith and Wesson 642 for a purse gun and man I got me an itch for a revolver. I'll still carry my .40 shield so this will be just a range toy and something to oooo and ah over. I was pretty set on either a 686 in 6" or 5" 686 ssr pro with a 7 shot 357 mag cylinder in either. Then I started thinking that if I'm not going to carry it, and it's only a toy, why not a 44mag, or 460? Go big or go home type of thing. I'm looking for anyone that has shot either and impressions and overall opinions to help me decide.

Since I had the handy trigger pull gauge out, thought I would share what a little elbow grease + Wolff Springs can do to your revolver. The Ruger had a really stiff DA trigger pull of around 10lb's and that annoyed the hell out of me. Just replacing the trigger and hammer spring alone dropped it down to a more manageable pull. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzURE2_HSpA

Neat little gun I picked up tonight. The price was right and the ammo is cheap! Great little backyard plinker! .22 (short, long, long rifle) 9 shot, 6" barrel, double action revolver made by High Standard for Sears brand J.C. Higgins. Basically the same gun as a High Standard Sentinel. Low serial # gun (14,_x _x _x ), probably made in 1955 or '56 from what I can find out. Anybody have more info I would love to hear it! Thanks!
