    STILL not cycling light loads

    So, I made the D-mod to the gas block (which, I found out afterward is probably not good). I have a TAC-47 auto-plug, and the CSS puck in it. I took it out to tune the auto-plug with a variety of loads, and no matter how tight I cranked down the auto-plug, it wouldn't cycle the light loads. The really strange thing is that when I popped in in some 2 3/4 high-brass hunting loads, it was pitching the hulls disturbingly far (It took about 2 rounds to make that conclusion. I'm pretty sure 20+ feet isn't good). Can it simultaneously be under and over-gassed? My current plan is to try the 6-position plug with the same loads, but does anyone have any other ideas? I'm really regretting hacking up the gas block, now. I have made zero progress. It always would cycle heavier stuff. I dialed the plug way back, and fired probably 100 other shells, and I think I see some new dings in the puck. I'm not overly concerned, but it's a bit of a bummer.

    Gas Block Compatibility?

    I have a recently purchased saiga 308 that I am in the process of converting, and I was wondering whether a combo FSB/GB from an AK47 or 74 such as the KVAR combo gas block and FSB will fit on it, or if there are any purpose built S308 combo FSB/GB's being manufactured.

    stubborn gas block help

    I have two saiga 20s. I am trying to get the gas block off my 2001 model. i have removed the two lower pins with ease. I have read and read and followed Jeff D post as well as many other threads.I can not get it to move. am i missing a pin? help needed.
  5. This may seem like a dumb question, so forgive me. I have a barrel that had a standard FSB pinned on. I converted the rifle to a piston (Adams Arms Kit) and had to cut the FSB off because the pins wouldn't move. I am now currently converting it back to DI, and have a low pro gas block that I want to pin on. Question I have is, there are 2 pre-existing taper pin holes from the original FSB. The low pro does not even come close to line up with one of them, therefore I would have to drill a third hole. Will this extra hole cause any problems? My main concern is developing a weak point on the barrel. The barrel is a medium SOCOM profiled barrel. The new block will cover all scars. These holes always look deeper than they really are but I just worry about stupid stuff like this. I run my rifles hard. They get hot and beat up, so I want to make sure the barrel will take the abuse.
  6. I have a Saiga12 (Legion Import) S12 that I am unable to get a Tri or quad rail forfend for due to size and shape of gas block tube. It has a 2 position gas dial in front, an ak style flip rear sight, and a hinged rear cover with permanent rail attached. Conversion completed p/t purchase. I have very limited grip in my hands due to a spinal cord injury after breaking my neck in 2010, and have to have a forward pistol type grip to be able to hold the gun, which I presently only have a rear pistol grip. I wanted the Chaos rail with HK type sights, but unfortunately none will fit, per Cameron from Chaos. Greg from Carolina Shooting said their rails (all) will not fit. I do not want to permanently alter the gun (nor do I have the ability/skill) and am limited to what I own since I am in CA. Cameron (Chaos)is under the impression that my Saiga is Military and not a "regular" Saiga 12, not sure why. I have called and emailed Legion with no reply! Multiple attempts. Place of purchase as confused as I of the distinct variation from other S12's. Exhaustive online and gun show search has come up empty. Can you please help?     Gas Block Wear?

    hey guys..so i have this draco quad rail i modded to fit on my saiga 7.62x39..it bolts togeather with 4 allen screws and does not require an upper hand gaurd retainer..it is very nice and works well but i had to grind on it a bit to get it to fit right cuz it was binding up the gas piston..now when i take my gas tube off i can see the the lower half of the gas block has a little more wear on it than the top..like the metal is a lil bit thinner..is this normal? with the handgaurd bolted down tight i think it might be binding it just a little tiny bit..like not enough to matter cuz it cycles smoothly but enough to wear on the gas block a bit or the wear is normal.? Any help is much appriciated thanks.
