  1. 01/06/14 UPDATE: Price dropped to $50 shipped. 01/02/14 UPDATE: Posting this on the Vepr Forum too now. Guys, this is a steal! Chaos had this rail at $85 + shipping over the holidays and I priced mine here to match that (-used item), but Chaos is back selling these at $99.99. Also, this thing doesn't even have a single major scratch on it. I even cleaned and lightly oiled it for you! I am selling this used Chaos tri-rail will all the hardware. It definitely has signs of use, but is in overall great condition. Because Chaos rails are modular, you can get a top or extended top rail from them and turn this into a full quad. Official product description: “Made for Saiga 12, the Chaos Tri Rail System is manufactured to highest standards in the industries. Our MIL-STD-1913 rails are made from aircraft grade 6061 aluminum alloy. Hard coat military specification MIL-A-8625 or Type III non-reflective black. Weight: 10 oz.” One caveat: It has a weaver sling adaptor attached to it (see pics) and the set screw which holds it in place is stripped, making it impossible to remove without tools. I thought about drilling or dremelling into the thing and removing it, but decided that someone might actually want that thing on there and think of it as a bonus. It shouldn’t be hard to remove if you don’t want it though. ASKING PRICE: $55 $50 (shipped via USPS First Class with insurance and delivery confirmation to the 48 Continental States) Payment: verified PayPal only, please. The rail will be shipped the next business day after payment is received (and cleared), using USPS with insurance and delivery confirm. I will provided you the tracking info ASAP. I ship fast and overdo it with the packaging. I am PayPal verified and have great eBay feedback. You can check it here: http://myworld.ebay.com/prizrakat First person who posts "I'll take it" and PMs me, gets it.* *I do reserve the right not to sell to people with no forum history or bad rep. Thanks for looking and please, don't hesitate to post or PM any questions! PICTURES:
  2. Hello, I just recently purchased a Saiga IZ-132. I still need to do the conversion, and have all the parts to. The only thing I don't have, is the hand guard conversion parts. I have seen videos on you tube showing how to do it correctly by removing the FSB and gas block. I also seen the horseshoe piece that can be used, but have to notch the barrel. My question is: is there a bottom hand guard retainer that works without having to notch the barrel? I want my rifle to have the traditional AK look, however I am wondering if there is a easier way to get the same look without having to notch the barrel. I am not afraid to notch the barrel, I am wondering if it effects accuracy on the barrel. Also, do true AK's have the barrel notched for the bottom hand guard retainer? Thanks for all your help, I'm new to all this. ETA: OK, think I found out my original answer http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/css-bracket-ak.htm Sorry, I guess I should have posted this in the Conversion Forum. Mods please move it if you can, thanks. Does anyone have any experience with this bolt on lower retainer? Good or bad, I'd like to know for experience please, thanks.
  3. After months of hiding the SGL21 from the girl friend and calling it "Mikey" when talking about it she's seen it, held it, and likes it. She can't wait to shoot Mikey but she'd like a vertical fore grip on it, hand position affects her bad back and a vertical hand grip causes less stress and is more comfortable. I've been thinking about a hand guard with rails, but I'm picky. I hate anything that clamps to the barrel and it seems the options are limited in this area. I considered a Tapco quad rail, but plastic rails just don't do it for me. Red Jacket seems to have a quad rail that doesn't clamp to the barrel. Are there any others? Am I off in thinking that a hand guard that clamps to the barrel will affect accuracy with an AK? I've read various accounts so I'm not sure. The Red Jacket hand guard is pricey, but quality costs and I don't mind paying for quality even if I don't get instant satisfaction and have to put the purchase off a bit. Thoughts? Experience?
  4. I recently purchased the Iz-447 from Legion. I plan on taking off the dragunov stock and forearm and hopefully replacing it with traditional AK furniture. I know there are guys waiting on Chaos to release their new rail system. When this happens someone send me a pm. Thanks in advance...
  5. Hi i just recently got my hands on the saiga 7.62x39 and thinking about making a conversion, thus a few points I need to clear out 1) If i want to put original AK hand guards, can I just replace gas tube (bulgarian, or other), will this fit saiga gas block? I know i need a lower retainer too, any other parts needed? 2) Polishing parts. I plan on getting tapco single hook FCG polished, is there gonna be any benefit from this, should I get other parts polished or maybe not do it at all? 3) I'm kind of new to the gun game, and not sure if i should keep BHO or not? Thanks!
  6. Looking to find a wood handguard from a Vepr-12. I have a stock on the way but can't find a handguard quite as easy, Looking for the walnut finished version for a potential dye job and mod to fit a Saiga-12. Anyone with any help in this, thank you
