  1. Interesting story and video I found while browsing some international news. Rarely see videos like that on our news... pretty cool yet very creepy at the same time. http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Frnd.cnews.ru%2Ftech%2Fnews%2Fline%2Findex_science.shtml%3F2013%2F04%2F10%2F525418
  2. Ran across this gal on YouTube. Not a bad shot. Not hard on the eyes either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6CBKUM9gk8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrwUxYwhJvE I'll add more shortly.
  3. So, anybody familiar with this device? https://halix.co/innovations.html I'm wondering what the ATF thinks of this thing, if it's actually 100% legal, and if it is, if it's actually practical, or just a gimmick. Personally, I'll be laughing my ass off until I get a chance to dislocate my jaw with one.
  4. WTS a Geiger counter that is almost 20 years overdue for calibration. It uses a single D cell, and when switched to circuit check, the needle swings to the far right where it is supposed to. I do not have access to any sources of radiation that would register on this thing for a real test. $100 $90 shipped. This has been stored without a battery to keep the contacts free of corrosion, and will ship without a battery. A worker at the nearby Ft. Calhoun nuclear plant looked at it, and told me it is basically only good for telling you how fucked you are - if it's registering, you're done. I don't know a whole lot about it. It's a big yellow box with a handle, dial, knob and Civil Defense calibration sticker. It appears to be in functional condition and the circuit check works - however, I cannot attest to the fitness of this device for any purpose. Much more complete information posted by others below. It is long overdue for calibration, and I've been told an active source is required for calibration. But it is really cool-looking! Pics: Close-up of the dial: Calibration sticker: Internals: Pics next to a Glock slide, Swedish Mauser bayonet etc. (also for sale, to be posted in another thread) for size comparison
