  1. Dear Forum Members! I would like to announce that we now are importing Russian optics, manufactured by Zenit-BelOMO, the largest manufacturer of optical scopes and sights on the territory of the former USSR, located in Belarus. There was interest on the forum to optics and we decided to explore the possibility of bringing them to the United States. This summer we have even visited the factory in Minsk and left quite impressed. We are glad to announce that we are now an official distributor! There are currently two types of scopes that are available in our store: Red Dot Collimator Sights and POSP Optical Crosshair Sights. There are several different models that we carry with different mount types for Saiga, Vepr, Tigr, PSL, SKS, and SVD. We also have weaver rail mount sights that can be mounted on just about any platform. Please visit our store to check them out - http://www.saiga-12.com/products.asp?cat=25 Let me know if you have any questions - I would be glad to help!
  2. Up for sale is my Saiga 308 ver 02 rifle. It comes with 5 magazines; One stock 8 rounder turned into a 10 rounder, 3 Uinta 20 rounders, and a CSS Specs 20 gen 2 20 rounder. It also has a POSP 4-10x42 D VariPOSP Rifle Scope bought for $380 and now sold for $750 on Kalinka Optics. It comes with it's own paperwork and carrying bag. The stock is a Black Horse Arsenal Dragunov Composite/Polymer expandable stock. These are real russian dragunov stocks imported and then modified to fit onto an AK platform and also be length adjustable. It also comes with its own paperwork. I replaced the orignal trigger system with a Dinzag Arms Two-Stage trigger. The bipod is a Versa-Pod Model 51 with a Mini-14 mount. It is drilled into the receiver between the forearm and the magazine well. It doesn't hinder the magwell, but there's not much room for fingers. It pains me to sell this, but I am going to be moving to a newer apartment and the more cushion money the better. The only thing I had left to do to this rifle was to thread the barrel. I'm asking $1600 + ~$40 with shipping for this rifle package. Will accept Paypal or USPS Money order, or a FTF transaction if you are from Ohio. No trades. Will ship to your FFL, but if your FFL will not accept from a private seller I can work with that. I don't want to split this up either. I do not have the original box, but I do have all the paperwork that went with the firearm and all the accessories. I put probably around 300 rounds through this total, pretty good groups overall. If there's any questions or requests for more pictures, please don't hesitate to ask. Good luck. First "I'll take it" gets it.
  3. Greetings all, I'm looking to get some glass for my Vepr 7.62x54r, and have narrowed it down to 3 of the POSP options. I'd like some advice on pros/cons of the different ones. 3-9x42 from Kalinka, $330: http://kalinkaoptics.com/catalog/product/view/id/343/ 3-9x42V from Eastwave, $339: http://www.eastwavescope.com/index.php? ... 68&lang=en 4-8x42VD from Eastwave, $299: http://www.eastwavescope.com/index.php? ... 69&lang=en Is the zoom versatility between the 2 Eastwave options worth $40? If so, is there any significant difference between the two 3-9x42 options (other than the $9)? Any other options I should consider, or other vendors to look at? I'm specifically looking for the zoom capability and the large exit lens, and I want to stick with the side rail mount.
  4. UPDATE4: SOLD UPDATE3: SPF UPDATE: Added a pic of the reticle and a daylight pic of the tube scuff/scratch. UPDATE2: Ad also posted on the Vepr Forum. Would like sell this lightly used, high end Belorussian POSP scope, which I bought from Kalinka. It's not in stock right now, but they had it listed as: "POSP 4-10x42 D VariPOSP Zoom Rifle Scope w/ Adjustable Illuminated 1000 m Dragunov Reticle and Independent Focus, Weaver Version" Here's the official product description: The POSP 4-10x42 D wit is a high quality sniper rifle scope with a magnesium alloy body and fully multi-coated optics. A great assault weapon scope with a 1000 m Dragunov marked metering grid, this illuminated reticule grid scope allows you to determine kill distance as well as to track and observe game in the field. This sight's defining feature is an independent focusing eyepiece which operates similar to a pair of binoculars. The diopiter adjustment allows you to focus clearly when firing at close range, to adjust for your specific eyesight and simply to give you the clearest picture possible. Illumination is provided by a LED bulb. The special design of the scope allows for both lateral and angular adjustments quickly and easily so you always stay zeroed in. It features professionally ground, crystal clear optics, nitrogen filling to prevent lens fogging, and larger diameter tubes for improved light gathering under the most severe conditions. Probably the best scope, dollar for dollar, in the world. It is waterproof and can be used in any climate condition. It comes with a high quality mil-spec black finish, and comes with everything shown in the picture; rubber lens cap, eye piece, screw driver and nylon carrying case. If you want the look and performance of a true POSP and place a premium on shooting comfort, this is your best choice. The Weaver POSP is perfect for use on the .308 versions which require longer range reticles to make full use of their capabilities. The POSP series uses standard, readily available watch batteries. Kalinka's Canadian sister company has this thing in stock, for $485. This is the high end of the POSP line of scopes. The scope comes with an unused original rubber eye piece, nylon camo case (with internal pockets), Russian instruction manual, batteries and a couple of unused cleaning kits. The scope has barely been used and is in great working condition. It's rugged, clear and cool looking. The only thing that's wrong with it, is a cosmetic scuff/scratch on the right side of the tube, near the objective. Please, see the last picture! It's not deep and in the picture, it looks worse that it actually is. It's something that can easily be covered up with touch-up pen or even a marker. ASKING PRICE: $350 (shipped via USPS Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation to 48 Continental US states) Payment: verified PayPal only, please. The scope will be shipped the next business day after payment is received (and cleared), using USPS with insurance and delivery confirm. I will provided you the tracking info. I ship fast and overdo it with the packaging. I am PayPal verified and have great eBay feedback. You can check it here: http://myworld.ebay.com/prizrakat First person who posts "I'll take it" and PMs me, gets it.* *I do reserve the right not to sell to people with low posts counts or bad forum rep. Thanks for looking and please, don't hesitate to post or PM any questions! PICTURES (click on them to see the full size versions):

    POSP Parallax Setting

I know the subject has been touched on briefly, but does anyone here know at what range POSP scopes are set to be parallax-free? It'd be even better if anyone had any success in re-setting it to something more useful than either a parsec or micron. Is it even possible? I've seen that some commercial scopes' objective lens rings can be fudged a bit to move the parallax setting.
