  1. Hello. I would like to know more about the Vepr 12 competition models/custom shop safety & lack of selector. I have read numerous times for the desire of the cross-bolt safety modification. I would love one as well as it seems more familiar to me than the traditional ak selector or even the modern Bulgarian ak/galil/fal type thumb selector. But I have uncovered very little evidence & information about this safety mechanism. From the pictures I have found it does not resemble a traditional cross-bolt type safety. I can only really see one button on just the right side. On the lef
  2. Compared to the Saiga rifles, the primary dust cover on the shotgun receivers have a longer notch on side with the charging handle to allow for clearance of the ejected shells. The problem that I have seen with this is that the safety selector, when pushed upward to the "Safe" position, frequently travels well beyond the top of the receiver, only stopping after it begins to set underneath the dust cover. This can make it rather awkward and difficult to move the safety into the "Fire" position, even with a modified safety selector (like the Krebs Mark VI-S). I am thinking that possibly
  3. One thing I noticed and that worries me is that when the safety lever is in the safe position and with the dust cover off, the lever will disengage and move all the way up when the trigger is pulled hard enough. I understand normally one wouldn't or shouldn't have any ammo loaded with the dust cover off, but still worries me. The lever that engages the trigger in the safe position is slightly angled so that enough pressure is put on the trigger, and with the dust cover off to stop the lever from going up all way, it forces it upwards and releases the hammer. I have a converted Saiga
  4. I recently separated the stock from my Super Vepr 308 so I could put some coats of linseed oil on it. I noticed that the push button safety had to be removed to allow the separation. I used a screwdriver to rotate the safety 180 degrees and then pushed it out. Easy enough....or so I thought. Well after I got the safety out, I removed the stock and started the linseed coats. After about 6 coats the stock looks really awesome now, but I've run into a bit of a snag on re-install. There is a retaining wire that is blocking the hole that the safety need to slidethrough on the left side of t
  5. Hello Everyone, I'm a long-time lurker and already proud owner of a Saiga .223 (converted). However, today I received my S12 (the new 'after ban') that does not have the side rail. It's imported by TGI in Knoxville, TN. Anyways, my issue is the same as this guy's http://forum.saiga-1...es-safety-down/ His pics are towards the end of the post and it's identical to my problem. I've done what some people suggested and just bend the safety lever a little...it has helped, but this has made it very loose and if I hold the gun in a downward angle the majority of the time the safety lever wil
