  2. I have a vortex strikefire on an AR and I want to use it on my saiga 5.45 with the TWS dog leg rail. Vortex makes 30mm rings in a few different sizes, obviously low to pretty dang high. My question is will the "low" rings give enough clearance for the front of the optic? I'm not concerned with co-witness. Their site states: LOW - "height of 0.83 inches (21mm) from the base." MEDIUM - "height rings are ".97" / 24.6mm". I couldn't find if this has been covered anywhere. Like to get low as possible without the front bell of the optic touching. Thanks in advance.
  3. I had an idea today and I wonder if anyone has tried it already. Everyone has seen the shark breaks and such that make a muzzle device such as a break or flash hider double as a sort of pronged bayonet-like weapon. I was wondering if anyone has grinded down the Vortex Flash Eliminator like so: My concern is that it would hinder the flash hiding ability. This would be unacceptable. In addition to grinding down the prongs to form sort of edged teeth prongs (probably sharpened), I was also wanting to grind down the extra thick neck because it seems thicker, and therefore heavier, than ne
  4. I think this video is a must see, even if you're not in the market for a flash hider atm. As I was looking for a new flash hider for my Golani I came across it. Awesome company. After watching it my choice of flash hider is clear. Not only is the Vortex the best in function, (according to many knowledgeable sources) but after I found out Smith Enterprises gives them away free to our troops who have to pay out of pocket, I couldn't give my money to anybody else. Of course I can't find them as cheap as they say in the video, but still less than $60 is a pretty good price for quality.
