Blood clots went up from my left lower leg in to my lungs

If I would have waited a few hours on Saturday I would not be texting this.

Will be in the hospital for awhile.

The wife and I both agreed it’s time to hang it up last night in the ER

Judging by the size of the clots it will take at least 6 months to clear.

As always I dogged another one

Looking forward to living a life with out stress and normal hours (my hours)

Feeling good can now walk to the head with help (another lesson in humility)

I hope you get a handle on it. This life is short. Maybe God is trying to give you a reason to let go, relax, and enjoy yourself a little. If relaxing doesn't drive you nuts, you have half of the battle won. I'm not sure I can stand retirement and I am glad I have a ways to go. It is hard enough for me to attempt to sit still for one day a week.

I'm glad it's you posting, not a family member. Make "retired" be a pause before you find a different meaningful occupation or two. The alternative is dissipation, and that's no way to live.

I have a ton things to do and will not wast away like some who retire.

Feeling better today, my job right now is to put every energy into healing.

I have rehabbed before and know the drll. But this time the pressure is off.

Finally got to eat last night , coffee was so good.

Thanks to all

I have prayed specifically for you and your recovery this morning Jerry and that God will bring joy to you in this new chapter of your life. Glad you are still here to post. Wishing you a speedy recovery and that your strength fully returns.

This means you have a lot of spare time to enlighten us and inform us. Even if you don't want to do Anthony's book idea, I'd read what you have to say. Youtube is pretty fun to post on too.

Well it started

The well wishers who would like to take over my position want to chat a little

Meanwhile I started to re setup all my electric guitars. It was a nice day.

Tried to sing along to a rock song but have no wind, it's going to take a long time.

Wife is so happy to be retired. Life is good

Sounds like you are settling into spirit of whatever you want to do exactly how and when you want to do it. Fiddling around with guitars does indeed sound like a nice relaxing day. I hope to have time for things like that again before my fingers quit working, lol.

Been playing since I was 14, just built up a new strat that I got from a local pan shop and it turned out great.

Upgraded my studio software in December and got a new keyboard for it.

Just one of the things I like to do but had little time to do it.

I honestly thought I would mis it more but all the paperwork cured me of that

Life is good

Well I seams some people want me to come back when I am better.

What is wrong with people! This got me so P O that the wife had to calm me down this morning.

I do have paper work to do for a few months that I can do at home at my pace but then it's over.

I cannot believe some people, I just can't.

Sunday sucking coffee with the phone of the hook a new reality for me. I think I can get used to it.

My Brother who is a few years older, had the BEST observation EVER.

When I asked him how retirement was going, he said "I always thought that minding my own business was a full time job. Now I see that it REALLY IS!"

Comes a point in life when living that life better is more important than earning a better pay check.

Doing okay.

Coughing is about finished, getting a little stronger as well.

Tomorrow I see the pulmonary doc and have lost some weight due to the wife's new diet for me.

Starting to realize just how many people I have helped in my life.

All the cards and well wishes is overwhelming. How most of them even found out about me is a wonder.

Getting up at 9:00 am instead of 5:30 am has ceased to bother me.

Life is good.

Had a meeting with the person who will be taking over my duties, great guy late 30s and sharp as a tac.

My vehicle goes in a week. Just have to finish up my back log of paper work and then I am done.

Little strange realizing it is coming to an end but it's also a good feeling.
