VladTepes 160
I wonder how that would sound with a can... looks great. I thought an awful lot about this.. LOL I am scared to thread the barrel.. especially for a suppressor.. now for something like a brake or hider maybe.. but those threads have to be really spot on for a suppressor or I am going to end up hitting the inside.. but I think this gun would LOVE a suppressor.. evlblkwpnz 3,418
Barrel would need to come out and then thread between centers. It can be done, just not done cheap. It would probably be a lot of fun to shoot though.
saltydecimator 482
i thnk it gonna be loud suppressed, i sending mine off to "east tx hunter" from barfcom in may, now, since its blowback, may not be that bad... i like your resurfaced grip, thought about cutting lightening" slots like saigas or veprs in it? i dont know why they havent takne off like i would have expected... you getting your moneys worht here, while i lvoe cz, the skorp just shouldnt be as expensive as it is. heres some pics of mine mocked up form akfiles, and some other guys build with amd 65 handguard looks neat http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296160&page=4 heres it mocked up with vepr 12 stock https://i.imgur.com/r0OZCHq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pE3Sap3.jpg Edited April 25, 2018 by saltydecimator

I actually really like the handguard because it makes use of all the wasted space right in front of the magwell.. it gives a nice big grip area for a small gun.. I just could not stand those fins.. I thought they were kind of ugly for some reason.. I looked into an evo.. but I like that the PAK takes my Glock mags.. and this thing runs and runs with no issues yet..

Use a guide pin inserted in the barrel when you thread it. I think Brownell's sells them.
netpackrat 566
Barrel would need to come out and then thread between centers. It can be done, just not done cheap. It would probably be a lot of fun to shoot though. Not necessarily. Since that looks like a regular square back AK receiver, it's possible to put it in a 4 jaw chuck and indicate to true without pulling the barrel. My .308 Saiga was done this way. He threads a lot of barrels and has a good reputation in the local machine gun club. Edited April 29, 2018 by Netpackrat
evlblkwpnz 3,418
Which surface can you indicate is true to the centerline of the lathe with that method?
netpackrat 566
I'm not sure what his exact procedure is, but my gunsmith did it with my .308 and it hasn't caused any problems with either of the cans I have used on that rifle.
G O B 3,516
Centering is the gunsmith's secret. I would use the chamber.
patriot 7,197
Threading a muzzle need not be done in a lathe. It can easily be done using a thread alignment tool and die. https://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/Gun_Barrel_Threading_Tools_s/1891.htm

evlblkwpnz 3,418
$800 can with a $200 tax, lol. I've seen them get ruined. Dumbest one so far was a brand new AAC 762-SD that got used on a rifle with perfectly concentric threads... and a crush washer to time the mount instead of shims. Dude walked into the shop the day after I released the can to him and had that look on his face. I looked at it, reminded him of all of that time I spent talking about shimming, shims, using Rocksett, waiting a day to cure, etc, etc. I then asked, "well, how did it sound after the first shot?". He said it sounded good to him, so I told him he could either shim the mount correctly and live with it, or send the can back to AAC in hopes they will fix it. Pretty sure he was too embarrassed to send it back.

And it has a unthreaded barrel. I believe the nak-9 will be more sucessfull because of the standard handguard and factory threading.
