I'm still here and surviving. lol. Just checked it looks like I joined in March of 2004. I don't spend much time here anymore since I had to sell ( Financial hard times ) my S12. But  I am hopeful to have another one someday.

I honestly don't know if you think I count as here from the old days or not. I surely missed the window on $2-300 saiga builds.

I enjoy the era of new ideas and problems to solve. Now most of them are solved.

I did not enjoy the period of loudmouth crowds of know it alls ganging up on every thread and patting eachother on the back.

Less so, when a couple waves of them later started spamming every thread with bottom shelf porn.

Now, those who stick around are mostly the creative types, but solving problems on new guns that aren't saiga, and all the mag fed shotguns out there. I like that. I want to keep up to date on developments in mag fed shotguns. This is still the best overall place for that. Plus there are friends here.

For the last year or so, there has been more activity holding my interest in the YT gun community, and the reloader's network project. A lot of really talented and creative people involved in that. So more time there than here, or vepr org. But I check in here and there, and other places.

After the sunset of the AWB I found the platform and  this place. I was drawn in by conversions that Shannon and Dinzag had done. Bvamp was probably the only mod at the time and was fond of killing snow men, not cleaning his shotgun, and trading punches with a jackass named McUzi. Good times!  Maybe one day The U.S. and Russia will kiss and make up and allow trade to resume, although supply has always been sketchy through the year.  And drama, oh yes the drama. We managed to run off AGP, Red Jacket used to be a no name good guy, the drum mag wars with Mike D and another jackass that owned AA. Cameron (Chaos) got the shit kicked out of him when he first came on the scene for no good reason and had integrity to hang in there and build his business, Tony Rumore built a huge following around this platform and has since stepped back due to dwindling supply leaving Lonestar and Evl to fill the void for quality builders. Last, I'll leave you with the crazy old mofo from the past who's name escapes me for one of the most entertaining picture threads I ever ran across years ago.  Azrial, if you still have the same profession, watch your 6 and keep the bad guys at bay. Thanks for posting this, I'd like to see who else checks in.

That is me a few months after Katrina when the weinermobile parked a few blocks from my house lol. I miss being able to walk down the street with a saiga 12 and nobody giving a damn.

. I would have never attempted full conversions without this site, and the information I gained was priceless.

+1

I'm by no means a "regular" or "old timer" but joined in 2007, and remember a lot of the big forum happenings. I have met a few members off this site and still contact/follow a few others. This is the first time I've looked in a year+ on here. Unfortunately import laws made the saiga forum dry up. Once upon a Time I checked these forums multiple times a day.

Hey, my account still works!  lol

Hi guys, good to see some old familiar names.
I still check in every once in a while.

Haven't pulled the S12 out of the safe in some time.... even so I was just thinking I should buy a couple
of CSSPECS metal mags for it. That would give me an excuse to go shoot it to test the new mags.

I was looking for a way to pop in here and write a big fat HI to all the old school guys. Remember me?

The second S12 I bought was one of the FBMG ones imported with the barrel that was too short. Welded on 0/0 choke with ATF letter, LOL. 'Memba that?

Still have all my saigas, and still shoot them! More than ever, actually. My S308 have always been my favorite 308, if only because its so fun to shoot.... and because before Sandy Hook I cleared out every Walmart of Tula 308 steel case, and its the only .308 I have that likes it. Still have most of my my FBMG second run mags.... and lots of csspecs too.

Don't care about panic prices on my Saigas. Will not sell. They were the first guns I ever modified myself, and they have been banging away for years now with no problems.

ETA: My avatar is no longer the animated one it was before. Blue helmet.... bullet....

...Been VERY quiet lately. Guess the lack of weapons and ammo can do that on a gun board.

But....yes, I'm still here still capping the trolls and wrong-do'ers.
