Hi all:

I just watched a video explaining how the waves of "immigrants" are organized by folks in Chicago and they're funded by George Soros. Big surprise. They're hardcore communist/marxist/socialist folks. The waves are a tactic to purposely overwhelm and subvert things.

The question came to my mind "what's the deal with Chicago?!" Not being from that region of the nation, you'll have to please forgive my ignorance about why Chicago politics are the way they are. There just seems to be something about Chicago that is perfect for producing these "organizers", Obama, Bob Ayers, the gangsters, all the corruption, and the "God damn America" Jeremiah Wrights of the world. However, I do get the impression that rural Illinois is cool like most rural areas everywhere else. Seems like Chicago is to Illinois what Austin is to Texas - only much, much worse.

I once asked a talk show host (Michael Medved) live on the air if he agrees with mine and my friends' sentiment that the "Chicago Way" is not the American way (as evidenced by Obama at the time). He essentially agreed and he spoke about problems spawned by all the corruption in Chicago. People and events seem to confirm my thought.

Something has to give folks. I don't know what, but I keep thinking the left coast, Chicago, and the northeast can't keep being the way they are, and keep pushing their problems onto the rest of the nation. I'm not advocating anything. I am simply worried and deeply concerned. Why? It just seems like the left always acts in a short-sighted manner without consideration for downstream consequences.

As for me, I don't like the fact I can't afford more "toys" at the moment.

Maybe I should start a go-fund-me page!

What’s wrong with Chicago?...It is run by Democrats. Period. Show me one thing, anything that they touch that does not turn to complete crap. We have liberals moving into AL by the droves from the craphole cities they just left saying it is too expensive to live there and there is no opportunity. Out of the other side of their mouth they complain about why AL hasn’t banned plastic bags and ‘Vote Blue in 2020’ It has to be a mental disease! They can in no way make the connection that the very party and policies they vote for turns their community, city,  and state into the autocratic high tax spawn of hell, they want to leave.

NY just killed a bill to help members of Gold star families go to college, while just a week earlier they set aside millions to help Illegal aliens go to college? People actually defend killing a baby at term citing “choice”?

It would seem that this country is marching straight toward Concord (Version 2019), and I would hate to be one of these American hating politicians if that happens. Regardless, at some point soon accountability has to come.

Apologies....Rant over!

Sincerely,

Pissed in Alabama

I hear you Spacehog. Where I live, we've had a ton of folks move from California, Illinois, NY, and Pennsylvania. "Original" folks are really concerned about it. I just saw a PA license plate today.

The fear is they'll bring their blue state liberal politics with them. In the meantime, they're the cause of house prices going skyhigh compared to what they used to be. I know several teachers in my area and they say they are having more & more parents confront them about stuff which boils down to the parents' egos - not anything about their child. These are parents from blue states.

The concept of making "little Johnny" work for anything or be held accountable for bad behavior gets spun into some sort of offense committed by the teacher.

Man ... if I even back talked a little bit I'd get sent to the principal's office and then get more heat from my parents at home.

(Oh ... sorry ... I said "parents" instead of parent)

For the record, PA (like NY and a few others) is NOT a "Blue" state. It's a Red state that has to suffer through all the crap forced upon them by the Blue hordes in a few big cities in that state. I know many people from NY who would be ecstatic if they could just wall off everything east of I-295 so they could live a good life in the real world.

Everyone I grew up with in PA, just east of Pittsburgh, is most definitely Republican.

Seconded. Definitely mostly a RED state. Harrisburg and that bastion of hoodrats Philthadelphia are the blue parts, with the crime to prove it.  I know.....I LIVE HERE.

To Ronin38:

Thank you Sir for the info. about Pennsylvania and New York. It is encouraging to know what you wrote. Therefore, I hope the cars I've seen with plates from PA and NY are being driven by "Red" folks.

Please understand how down in the southern states we tend to generalize the northeast as being "blue" country. I have relatives in Connecticut and they're all "blue" folks.

Anyway ... regarding my original post that begins this thread, I'm just worried how the left seems to be "balkanizing" our country. It wouldn't surprise me if the map turns into a "blue" left coast, a "blue" northeast, and a big "red" region in the middle that are three separate countries one day. The folks in Chicago seem to be at the tip of the spear for all of this.

I hope folks in PA keep making long rifles!!!

I don’t think you have to worry about the country dividing.  The most likely senerio is we kick the shit out of those areas and when the dust settles they emerge from their basements with a whole new level of I better shut the hell up.  You have all heard the sentiment growing.  A very large percentage of their supporters won’t fight for themselves let alone a nation or idea.  We are the working class, we are the farmers, we are law enforcement, we are the military, we are the gun owners...  They are the pansies, the felons, the lazy, the dependents...

I believe that the closer we get to the 2020 election we will see civil unrest in this country on a scale not seen since the 1960's.

The Red/Blue separation comes down to one simple question:

Do you support the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights and Rule of Law or don't you?

We live in interesting times.

Keep your powder dry boys.

And "Drunk Uncle Joe" is back in the running, again.

It would be a dark day for the 2nd Amendment if he gets near the White House again. He doesn't know crap about firearms, even more so than some of the other liberal whackos.

Yep, in NY the blues took 17 out of 62 Counties in the 2016 Presidential election, yet we remain blue. Not only do those 17 counties have the most Democrats, some of them have more of a population than most of the red counties combined.

It's even worse for the Gubernatorial Election. :(

Ditto for WA, and OR, though I think more of OR is purple.

yes Oregon is a slightly more purple we are mostly politically dictated by the Portland zip code.

last election cycle 7 out of 8 Oregon counties that petitioned signatures to vote on making their counties "Second Amendment Sanctuaries"    AKA   SAPO,  Second Amendment Protection Order  were SUCCESSFUL the rest of the counties residents couldn't or wouldn't bother.

Participation trophies, safe spaces, ANTIFA rich kids and college grads dumb as a bag of democrats are the norm here on the left coast

It is also interesting in OR that by statute, the state is expressly traditional open carry. (Which put them way ahead of texas for a long time.) However, it also excludes 6 places by name from that, and 4 of them are where I have family and regularly travel. Huge nuisance.

I am seeing a lot of NY tags these days, just about every day on my very short 4.6 mile commute to work, sometimes multiples. It is very concerning. I hope they are not still voting for the party that created the liberal tax policies they fled here to seek refuge from. I am considering having some sort of bumper decals made to the effect of...

DON'T BE STUPID

If you moved to here to flee liberal tax policies

don't vote for liberals and liberal tax policies here

If anyone has a great bumper decal (stickers are for kids) idea that would convey this better or more efficiently I am all ears. I have a couple of accounts with places that make these things and I would be happy to send you a couple, maybe anyone here who wants one if cost is not too much. It would be a little bit before I do it, but it has been on my mind a lot lately. The effort to save Florida from the idiots that don't seem to be able to figure out if they vote like they did where they left they will have exactly what they left has to start somewhere.

More and more ppl are fleeing this Godforsaken State than ever before, and for good reasons. King Andy has just announced his plan on a forth run for Governor. I too will sell off my property someday and leave, but as of now both I and my wife have family obligations to consider. Both of our elderly mothers are dependent on us, and they will not consider a big move like that.

The migration of NY libs ect. has slowed here in Florida and now the Midwest surge of boomers are coming in groves.

Because of that  the next election will not be so tight.

Sorry about NY YOT but you can move them all down here to the Gun Shine state and life will be great..

(Just remember My first rule  in investigating: You can fine all the things that look like foot prints of Big Foot but unless you find its crap you have nothing) Its the difference between hypothesis and reality)

Time to move my friend and come into reality.

i am going on the record. where i am from in NY, we were the third largest per capita gun ownership county in the entire
USA. then the handgun permit renewal thing happened, that was part of the downfall, then the taxes, then more gun laws that dont work, we left.; wherei grew up and was taught my ways, it wasnt 2 or 3 or 4. it was 20 30 40 that you even talk about. at the time i decided to leave ny, i think dutchess county ny was beat by somewhere in cali, and somewhere in texas, fourth place was penn somewhere.

i love my country. i am not giving up my basic beliefs for some political crap or  some soccer mom up the street that a i never met.

I feel for you brother. I have nothing of that nature keeping me here should I decide to leave. Being stuck in NY or another state like that would be my worst nightmare. I love some personal freedom and low taxes and will go wherever to have those basic conditions.

Well, as soon as you can defect you might be ready to jump before they make the punishment for leaving even worse.

I FLED from Marylandistan as soon as I could! It was a nice place until NY bought all the State and Local officials. Texas has a great law that Bush the younger passed as Gov, it makes it a crime to use out of State money in State or local elections.

It is GOOD to breath FREE air!

In the words of a very famous man "You gotta know when to walk away and know when to run". Very well done. I know you have to be glad you fled. It progressively gotten worse to the point of it looking like everyone a position of power is mentally deficient. I often wonder if they are simply trying to run off anyone who is of sound mind and has critical thinking ability, so they will have an even stronger hold on the power they use as a weapon against personal freedom and liberty. It is indeed a very very sad situation to see the place that symbolized freedom and prosperity in the eyes of many of our ancestors who immigrated here turn into the complete opposite. Should NY ever be taken back I will go there. Until then, I won't set foot there nor spend a dime there. My wife recently went to go visit her son in NJ and do some sightseeing in NY. She knew better than to ask me if I wanted to go. If nationwide carry is passed I might go, just to jab a finger in the eyes of those who seek to disarm us.

Short answer may be one creates a situation or environment then one exploits and controls what you have created.  I have been to Chicago only once in my long life and I did not like it then.  Only thing was my age was about 6 at the time.  Just passing through.  Super Connie.
