surfmaster 5
I wanted to ask if the Saiga 12 is able to accept and fire a manually dropped round in the chamber without using a magazine to feed the round? It's okay to do this for standard tube fed shotguns. I'd like to know if anyone has tried this and whether their extractor was okay afterward. From competition use, we sometimes need to load and fire just one round and it would be good to know if this shotgun can handle this tactic. Thanks in advance for your comments. scoutjoe 273
I used to do this when I was taking my one S-12 to the local turkey shoot. The magazine confused the fudds, alot. They still thought I was crazy but dropping in one shell at a time seemed to get me less stares.

It's referred to as "Combat Loading", and yes it works fine in an S12. However, without a BHO here are extra steps that would behoove the use of another shotgun action.
