BattleRifleG3 16
I believe they were waiting on an ammo source. There is none here.

As BRG mentioned, no ammo here anyway.
Twinsen 86
Does anybody know anything about the round itself? Oh wait, 9x53?! I was thinking of 9x39. I've never even heard of 9x53.
Zebra 0
the ammo can't be that hard to make if you're a reloader
dayanx 1
What will they think of next? Think the venerable AK technology can handle a Saiga chambered in .50BMG? XD
G O B 3,516
It's a Russian and Scandanivian big game round. Kinda like a '35 Whelan from what I hav been able to gather. Take the old Moin, rebarrell for 9MM. Fire form some cases. Shoot moose. Typical Russian practicallity. 9MM barrels are bigger than 7.62. So use a 9MM barrell on the Mosin amd go shoot moose. quinci956 1
Anybody have any specs. How does it match up to the 45-70 (velocity, muzzle energy, range, ect)?
Zebra 0
Well fuck!!!!! talked to Clyde at RAAC today, super nice guy by the way. he said that his cost on the saiga that shoots 9x53r is 1800 bucks so importing them is not really a good move because he'd probably sell them to the public for like 2200 - 2500 bucks. but if you really want one he already has the approvals to import them. although he did tell me about some new us made 30 round saiga mag for the .223 and the 7.62x39 also the thumbhole version of the .308 will be offered soon as well as a shipment of 20 and 12 gauges (for those looking to get one or six) so it wasn't a total loss on the fact finding mission
