roscoe 0
OK, with all the hooplah surrounding the 922 issue, I am inclined to get my rifle 922 safe. Anyone have a good source for a US made gas piston for a .223? Will I have to pay 25% of the cost of the rifle for something so simple? roscoe 0
Well, the second one is a lot cheaper. Still, $20 seems like a lot for a such a simple piece. But thanks to both of you for the quick reply. Edited October 5, 2006 by roscoe
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Hotbarrel sells hand made stainless ones stamped USA for 15 bucks shipped (or at least that's what I paid for two of mine)

Cobra 76 two 2,677
Here ya go man http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.p...light=hotbarrel I haven't been in touch with him since last year when I got my 7.62 piston and from the looks of this post I don't know if he's still doin em or not but it's worth sending him an email to see. He does great work. Looks like he's into Yugo grenade launchers these days...
uzitiger 193
I didn't use the US made gas piston and replaced five other parts; trigger, disconnector, hammer, pistol grip and made my own butt stock from Baltic birch plywood. I also used Falcon Arms magazine floor plates and Tapco followers. I'm not sure if followers and floor plates are available for .223s.
