Press plates.

Recommended Posts

What will they be made of and will they also be made so that you can use them to press out the barrel pin?

Will they also work with my 20 ton press?

They will be made of cold roll steel, with 3 holes, center hole to press FSB on .223 and 7.62x39

and two holes in ends to press off GB on the .223 and 7.62x39, and yes they will work

with any press 6 ton to 30 ton that many people have on there set up, no

they are not design to take the barrel pin that hold the barrel to front trunnion.

They look like this

OK this is the deal, plates 3 holes, center hole to press off FSB of 7.62x39

or .223, side holes to press off GB .223 and 7.62x39.

By the way it will work on Chicon and other ak47 barrels too.

Plates made of cold roll steel, they are sand blasted and paint black to

avoid rust, to be use with 6 to 50 ton press.

Price 48.00 buck included shipping to lower 48 states, payment

to be money order, this are not cheapo toys, 2 to 3 weeks for deliver

from the time of money order arrival.

Tiny, use a cheap air hammer with a ground down bit to take the big barrel pin out.

To remove the sight block and gas block pins, I have a pile of old broken drill bits I use as drifts.

I all ready have a press kit that is similar to vjor press kit that works great for removing the the barrel pins (but) it's made out of aluminum and I would like to have a press kit that is made from cold roll steel for longevity.

Heres a pic of the press kit I have.

Damn only 3 people talk the talk and walk the walk, whats with the rest.

If I can manage to come up with the funds I'd be in for one of your press kits.

I just lost my Wife of twelve and a half years on August 13 and money has been really tight lately.

 Aaww man DAMN! Sorry to hear that bro! WTF is it something in the air this year?

Tell me about it.

It's been a real F**ked up year!

My half Brothers Dad passed three weeks before my Wife did and my Dad just passed last Wednesday.

My Wife was only 44.

:super: Those look really good vjor!

Hey do the holes have to be cut or drilled thru the plate and then the plate is cut in half? I'm wondering if it would be possible to add another couple of holes on the other side for S-12 and S-20 gas blocks? Maybe they could be ground in? It can probably be used on the S-410 like it is.

OK this is the way to press stuff on the press, on the pictures you will

see and Saiga 7.62 x 39, the pictures are just a simulation of the press

off, the pins on the GB and FSB haven't been remove, remember

these pictures are just a simulation, remove the pins that hold

the GB and FSB before you press them out.

Like you will see here the FSB is been remove by pressing on the barrel

with a 10 mm deep socket, I found that is the best to do the job, no marks on the

crown of the barrel or FSB, you will see the plates been hold by C clamps

to press and together, that is the best way I have found to hold the stuff.

Usually the FSB is the hardest to press out; you will hear a loud pop

as the FSB comes loose and there you go, no fubar to barrel or FSB.

Now on this picture you will see the GB been press out, I have found out

that it comes easy as easy can be, on the pic you see the FSB on the barrel

but in real press out, the FSB will be gone and you only will see the plain

barrel, to this day I have press the GB just pressing on the barrel itself

making sure no bending of the barrel as it gets press down, you can use

pennies or a brass stub to press on the barrel down, to this day

never have a barrel bend or any marks on crown on barrel, like you see

I haven't use any C clamps to hold the press plates to press, well

I got good doing it plus been that the GB comes really easy, not

like the FSB of the barrel, just use common cense and be careful

pressing the stuff off, if you feel the need to secure the plates to

press, go ahead, better safe than sorry and secure the plates to press.

I am very interested in one for the s12 gas block. what all can you do to make one an what time frame?

Hey bro give me a week and I can answer that, have to tool for it

and see how much will cost to make them, if they will be made

probably on same cold roll steel than the plates for the 7.62 and .223

but remember bigger holes for the 12G barrel to press the GB on it

or multi-press for 12G, 20G and 410G or at list 12G and 20G
