Im just plum crazy :lolol: Now if Arsenal would release a plum RPK handguard for my S-12 I'd be plum silly :chris:

 

I have always loved the look of the Ak platform,ever since I was little playin war in the neighborhood around the very early 80's I had a variety of Ak looky like toys, My favorite one was a Plum AK and one day I knew I would have the real thing.

Well I meant to do this a few days ago but here it is, my first conversion!

i would likw to see more saiga with that nice looking timbersmith furniture... you dont see many, i wonder why? the price is not bad, and its usa made...

 

Not everyone is a fan of wood. For the sake of weight a lot of folks just use synthetic furniture. Nothing wrong with it.

that is just awesome, very sharp! good job i really like the way it came out. im gonna place an order for next pay for sure!!! i couldnt decide on what color, birch, black, or brown. i didnt want to get what everyone else got. who know the best recipe for that russian red color? to bad timbersmith doesnt make a donkey grip version, i emailed them about that and they were like negative. :-(

Nope. Not birch. I got the unfinished set and finished with a reddish stain. I wanted it red, but not as red as you commonly see out there. It's actually redder than it appears in these pictures, but not by much. I have a video forthcoming as well.

 

I don't hate to break this to ya... But, that IS birch. :rolleyes:

Who know the best recipe for that russian red color? t

Minwax - Sedona Red 222

Sand that wood till its smoother than a newborn's ass

2-3 heavy coats of stain

Sanded with fine grit ( between each coat)

............................................

Then do a layer of Satin polyurethane clear coat

a light buff with 0000 steel wool

repeat 2-3 times for a deep lustrous clear coat.
