stnls1911 55
Looking good alex e How hard was the FSB to take off?
alex e 5
A super steady hand and a 6" Makita angle grinder fitted with an abrasive cutting disc made VERY short work of it. PB Blaster down the barrel/sleeve gap, wipe off excess, then make a level cut on each side of the FSB as a guide, and follow it, check your progress so you don't cut into the barrel. Once you are right there insert sturdy screwdriver to crack the FSB cuts and tap off with a soft mallet. I nicked my barrel about 1/64 deep.....FAR shallower, 90% shallower than the dimples in the barrel from the factory. Took 3 minutes. I am putting a FSC47 on the end, and might paint the barrel anyway. I've also considered running a long rail system that would cover the barrel. Third option is cut barrel down. That looks really good.
atakacorp 147
Thanks, bro. The hardest part was strip all the crappy polish from the wood . I did cut 1.5” from the lower handguard and about 3.5” from the upper, plus you need bracket for the lower guard and ak gas tube( I used east German), some tweeking here and there ,was done in 2-3 hours with the trigger group conversion . Took me 2 days to put the color and polish on this baby you can see where i cut it. Edited February 18, 2011 by atakacorp
