liberty -r- death 1,445
Just got traded for this one. No plans to change anything yet. This one is shootable as is since it was imported with the Saiganov stock, and better than the standard sporter set up.

tchick 52
Here's my Saiga set up for night time hog hunting. The light is a Wicked W400 green light. I also added a .5" riser on the Magpul stock and it works great with the scope (Leopold VXR-Hog). I hope to do some night hog hunts in the spring.
cowens677 1
This is my first saiga and first AK and I must say I am in love! I really enjoy tinkering with my weapons so the conversion was definitely the way to go for me besides just buying already built Arsenal. Being left handed I really enjoy the charging handle being on the right side, but I might mod the safety to have control of it with my thumb. I just have to add the Kvar hand guards and ak74 muzzle brake and she will be done.
su16a 84
Work in progress build on left, I have a set of Meprolight Tru-Dot Night sights coming in to finish it up, may sling it later... I really like the AR STYLE ALUMINUM FOREARM from CSS. S762 to right has UltiMAK Optic Mount with Bushnell RedDot. Both are a blast to shoot

Big John! 2,062
Rough phone video of xmas day outting with my brother shooting my Saiga 7.62x39 for the first time after completing the pistol grip/FCG conversion and barrel threading, tapco gas piston + adding tapco slant muzzle brake with Russian red wood furniture install! Dbl taps, bursts and single shots of 200rds through 3 styles/manufacturers of mags (polymer & steel) firing 2 types of ammo (BBear HP & GTiger FMJBT) flawlessly with decent grouping IMHO?! Proved it's trustworthiness for protecting my family and very happy with the final product after my first conversion! Next....Saiga 12 on it's way cuz you CANTA have enough of these Russian icons! Feedback welcome......but keep it civil and constructive please!! Looking good man. My only problem is having to stay civil and constructive. I picked up my x39 a couple weeks ago. Finally got to the mag catch, some polishing, and ordered conversion parts. Mine will look unlike any here. Can't wait to get it done so you guys can love it or hate it.
Gzus Kryst 53
Took me two years but finally posting pics of my saiga I bought on accident Impulse buy at the gun show it was only $400 so I grabbed it having no idea what I just did, But its cool I bought some junk to hang on it Then I found this site, asked a bunch of asinine questions, and then realized the scope of what I did. Hesitant to do the conversion I modified a steel surplus Mag to work by grinding down the tab on the back and building up weld on the front to work like the stock saiga mag. After that worked flawlessly 500 rounds of Brown Bear ammo no failures to chamber my confidence was bolstered and decided I was going to convert it or scrap it trying. I was nervous as hell so this part took way to long Then I decided why buy a BG when I can make one had to modify the hell out of it but its working now then I decided to paint it got a deal on a slide fire for $200 and bought a TWS cover with peep cause I dislike the stock sights picked up a Ultra dot Red dot Ended up trading the slide fire for a SKS now has a tapco stock, houge grip and replaced the Handguard with a CSS Handguard
Rhodes1968 1,638
There is something rattling around in my head about painting the barrel of a firearm orange... What could it be.
Gzus Kryst 53
In sunlight its red and the whole barrel is red its not illegal, according to the cop my neighbor called on me after I got my slidefire , its when you paint the tip orange to make it look like a toy
45js45 0
My TAC 47 build w a trigger job that will make even the staunchest AK critic jealous. Yeah, that SRT is pretty danged nice... Tac47 rocks. What is the button behind the trigger?
Inebriated 31
Trigger stop, I presume. I made one similar, but it ended up getting a few unreliable resets and triple taps. The stop was a hair too long, and I never bothered fixing it, just took it out. But when it was working, it was GREAT. Edited January 24, 2014 by Inebriated

AKTEX 1
My Saiga build, including photo showing my resulting 1MOA group @ 100yds, from yesterday. I will do some fine tunning with a lead-sled as POI appears to be 1/2" left and 1/4" low, but (as is) it's close enough for government work!

ChileRelleno 7,074
Like Legos & ARs, just can't leave'em alone. Left the forearm alone for awhile. Then got bored one day and ventilated it. Today I put a Hogue hand guard package on it. The Hogue PGs are so comfortable, so is their forearm, and it gives it more of the classic AK front end. I foresee removing the FS and going with a Bulgy FSB & comp.
