gregomega 929
http://forum.saiga-1...-picture-posts/ Good effort but I don't think they'll ever get it. Heres the evolution of my S12, currently in the shop getting upgraded. I will post a pic when I get it back. I kindof laugh at how it started out. This is how I had it last and cant wait to get it back and update it with some new goodies. Edited January 24, 2012 by AZG

Dr.Butcher 0
Did this recently. It was done in the living room of my apartment in about 2-3 hours, so there is no excuse to not convert yours if you haven't yet. I was gonna leave mine in sporting configuration but after reading the pros n cons on here I had to convert it. Sure am happy I did too. Now I need to save up for a rail from Chaos. Sorry about crappy pic.

vicdoc 38
Here is mine, finished it last night. AK-Builder hole drilling kit for the trigger guard rivet and grip holes, AK-Builder trigger guard kit, K-Var forearm and grip, Arsenal Trigger/Hammer/Sear, MD Arms puck, and flash hider, Mako Group folding stock, waiting on MD Arms V-plug. Bolt hold open ground to shorten (a bit too much!). The 1st and 3rd receiver holes from the rivets of the old trigger guard were left with the remaining rivet pieces which I re-squashed then ground flush. Re-reinforcing plate was riveted, by drilling, countersinking the plate, riveting and then grinding the rivet flat. Yes, I know you're supposed to plug weld or spot weld the plate on but I don't have access to these. I lightly polished the bolt and carrier. im_n2_vws 28
Here are my home converted Saiga's. Saiga 12 on top and Saiga .410 on bottom. Future plans include Paulys glass bolt on the 12 and Ace folding stocks on both.
vicdoc 38
Here is an update to my build up a couple of posts. I tried shooting with the K-var handguard. There is a sling attachment on the metal retainer, on the left, and in perfect position for your thumb to get whacked as the gun recoils. Ouch! So I drilled and attached a short piece of Weaver rail on the front of the bottom of the handguard and attached my Bobro short vertical grip. I also got in my RS 30 mm optic mount and attached it today. It positions the Aimpoint about 2 mm above the topcover, and there is just enough space to remove the topcover and bolt carrier assembly, but since it attaches so quickly I will just take the optic off to clean the gun. You really can't see the iron sights through the Aimpoint, and I adjust the cheek piece about 2 cm (mid point) higher than flush for a good cheek weld. You cannot have the cheek piece up and shoot the gun with the stock folded since it gets hit by the charging handle. Edited February 11, 2012 by vicdoc

Boomstick12 11
Almost done...if I can just get the damn Olight pressure switch to work! I have almost the same setup on my AR except I also have a vertical grip. My pressure switches seem to go fairly often so I just put the light far enough in front of my vertical grip that I can push it on and off with my thumb. Easy, and less stuff to go wrong. saltydecimator 482
amanda, obama killed dont ask dont tell, but it applies in this situation!!!! my take on the concept: the gun will kill anything just as dead, so wtf is the difference where the parts are made.... have fun with the new heater!!!! messing with saiga shotguns is the most fun you can have with your pants on!!!! i feel as if these are the perfect chick gun, as felt recoil is way less than a pump. throw a warsaw (vs NATO length (longer)) stock on it with a big rubber butt pad on it and you can comfortably shoot it all day!!!! dle281 7
My first ever Saiga 12!! I had it converted by Tac-47. I live in Houston so it was convenient for me to use them and i wanted it done right. It took longer then i expected to get it back from them but they did a great job. I had them do the conversion and weld up the holes on the side. They also cut down the barrel, polished the bolt and refinished the whole gun. I got the Chaos Titan Rail, Tromix folding stock, auto plug, and Tac-47 magwell. I still haven't shot it yet but plan on taking it out to the range soon.
