longhunter-CO 0
Guys. I am interested in replacing a Saiga .223 gas tube with one to use a standard AK upper handguard. Is this a swap/replacement with a standard 74' AK tube or is it a you have to modify/fabricate one?
IndyArms 10,186
It will take a little bit of grinding/filing along the angled portion to fit, but after about 2 minutes with a dremel it will be just fine.

IndyArms 10,186
IT will fit, but it will not "lock in"... There is the rotating lever along the right side of the sight block that locks the gas tube in place. When you remove the factory tube, you will see an angled portion along the top rear edge that that lever will lock against. The standard AK74 tubes angle is not the same. so you can put it in, but it will not allow that locking lever to return to the "locked" position without re-angling that "angled portion" for lack of any better term. I hope that makes sense... without pics...
