define trouble with eaa websites?. If they are overseas, they shouldnt have a problem getting them without paperwork directly from russia. These companies wont talk to you unless you send them an official request, and maybe not even then, but they will respond at least.

I haven't seen anyone carrying a saiga yet over here.. You will get your butt in a sling if you try to bring over unauthorized weapons. They search the plane with dogs before you get off. They line up your bags and sniff them again with dogs checking for weapons and explosives. The only people who don't get searched are SEALS and spooks.I've been trying to line up some Saiga accessories but the local population is so poor they don't own any weapons. 32 days and a wakeup left.

PrvtPyle, well it sounds great and like your the man, But a good buddy who is local law enforcement is most likely the guy who can buy the mags for my bud without hassle, he can get them for $20 each. What is your price?

I guess I opened up dialogue that could be missused by????

I think that your info is outstanding and that it will lead towards a successful personal mission.

Thanks.

How do big game hunters who go on safari get to take their rifles and shotguns, semi-auto and bolt action, back and forth between the states and africa, or New Zeleand or where ever?

I don't think they need a letter from the ATF to do that.

I mean thousands of guys go hunt out of the USA every year and the guys I talked to at the last Sportsman Show who guide the Safaris said the Hassle was minimal.

I believe all you are saying on the military side of the equasion, but I think you are wrong about civilian travel with personal firearms.

The only catch would be a particular country's laws and regulations.

I would like to know has any one here gon on a safari or hunting trip abroad and what was the travel situation like with your personal firearms?

Let me know okay?

Well they do need to fill out a form to export a weapon, I dont remember the number. You can't just take the gun out and then bring it back. Sorry dude, it doesn't work like that. Other wise he would have to fill out a form 6 to bring it home and pay the excise tax if any were due.

Here is what the ATF web site says about it:

The GCA does not provide for an export license. However, firearms and

ammunition shall be exported in accordance with provisions of the Arms

Export Control Act of 1976 and a license must be obtained from the Office

of Defense Trade Controls, PM/DTC, SA-6, Room 228, U.S. Department of

State, Washington, DC 20522; (703) 875-6644. In the case of exporting NFA

firearms, a permit, ATF Form 9, must be obtained from ATF.

The export of sporting shotguns is regulated by the U.S. Department of

Commerce. For further information, contact them at their nearest district

office or the Exporter Counseling Division, U.S. Department of Commerce,

Washington, DC 20230, (202) 482-4811.

*******

So it is regulated and you can see where it discusses those regulations, and more importantly who to go to in order to get and export license.

But either way, this guy is active right? You said they were for an SF guy, not a civilian contractor or former SF member so he is bound under the UCMJ, GO1A in country and the post regulations here in our country.

And me getting the mags is no problem, I have dozens in stock. I just need a CC# (and I am set up to take the unit IMPAC card), they can go thru Prime Vending, or he can use his CC# with a letter from the old man. What is so troublesome about this? But there will be no middleman in the deal as me (or your cop buddy) sending them to you to give to him would be a felony. Just have him contact me and I will get him squared away with NO problems or hassle.

I think you should now look-up transporting personal firearms to and from the USA in the ATF regulations.

Not importing and exporting firearms, thats different.

I hope you respect me enough to not insinuate anymore, thanks.

It is a shame that our nation does not field a weapon that is as rugged and reliable as the Klashnikov that could be as accurate as we would want it. Dependability is more accurate than sub MOA jamamatics, especially when you got lots of mags and lots of shots, accuracy is in the percentages. Lethality is in the variables and reliability is a must.

"When we bought out break open shotguns in Turkey"

Dude we all speel bad on the forums. It is a fact of life. Trust me in real life I don't speel nearly half as bad as I do here, in the Forum world!

PrvtPyle, are you a leg?

Are you realy around classified stuff and have security clearences?

Because I would have never when I was in the Spec Ops talk about my unit, what we do, how we do it and what other units do and so on.

You better watch what you say, not because I care or the ATF, but come on, a Terrorist could be listening and you know "loose lips sink ships" so you cover your but and erase the tech stuff from your posts, huahh!

I don't even ask my buds what they do and how they do it, or where they are posted and who they work for, it's none of my buisness and so is most of the stuff you have written, it's not for me or any other civilian flunky to know. I think you are being a lil' to proud and you should cut that info from your threads and posts.

I am serious, a little info here and a little info there and soon the enemy knows enought to fill in the rest and connect the dots.

Did they not specifically tell you not to talk about the things you know and see.

I mean they caught a guy in the Navy recently working for Al Quida and passing on intell to them, mostly stupid stuff, butt hey, we are dealing with criminal masterminds and a lot more wicked than James Bond ever had to deal with in SPECTRE schemes. So lil' stupid stuff could help them.

I hope you take this the right way, then again you just might be a leg or some reserve pockey and are trying to pick-up chicks with all your cool tuff guy "I-know-everything-talk" but I hope you do consider the ramifications of opsec sop's and info that terrorist could use to obtain what ever they want.

You get me?

I deal with Marines that are going over to Iraq or Afganastan... I am a civilian but do some work for Quantico, and thus can occasionally train with them. I will be the FIRST TO SAY I know NOTHING about being deployed, or what you are allowed or not allowed to bring, but talking with 3 young men that are going to the sharp end in the next couple of months, they told me it was a Court martial offense to bring over any non-issued weapons. Most of them were trying to find a way to dump the crappy Berettas they were issued for something better, and were told no way...

I have no idea if this applies to SF, or of this has any bearing on what was being talked about, but thought I would add it just in case...

AGAIN: I don't claim to know ANYTHING about this, just passing along what I heard from a couple of Marines going over to Iraq and Afganastan.

There is a world of difference between regular, reserve and national gaurd guys and Spec Ops guys. There is very little difference though in the regulations.

But there is no regulation for guys working out side the box, if you know what I mean.

This thread is not for the purchase of anything for regular troops or the guys under the rules talked about.

The SF guys got some more leway when it comes to weapons approved by their chain of command and accesories not authorized for regular forces. That is why they are called Special Forces. Hint!

Anyways the source has been found and PrvtPyle is in contact with military armorers supposedly and can square away a in country SF team on special purchases and requisitions.

This chat is not about what is legal or not it is about where to find legal LEO 8rd. mags for LEO and DOD types.

So if anyone has a source go for it and list it!

PvtPyle,

I've grown used to listening to guys while they talk out thier asses, and I'll give you my honest opinion, I smell some ripe bullshit here. Time to drop this thread. There is no Special Forces guy who needs Saiga mags.
