This Congress will not pass this legislation. Too many of the Democrats that just won came into office claiming conservative ideals. The first reelection is the most dangerous for a member of Congress. By voting for this legislation the new Democrats would ensure that they would face stiff competition in the next cycle. The leadership knows this as well. For that reason, this legislation will not see the light of day until after the 2008 elections. A lame duck Congress could never get something as radical as this through, so we are looking at 2009 and the next President before there is really a chance of this getting through. We have to work to ensure that the Congress has actual pro-gun members after the next election. That is the only way we will stop this after January 2009. The Repulicans will hold enough Senate seats to filibuster the bill, but I don't know that the Senate leadership would stand their ground on this particular bill. How does a flash suppressor make a rifle more 'criminal' or a vertical pistol grip instead of a horizontal grip make it more dangerous? These laws are aimed at disarming us they way they did in California and the northeastern states. They are meant to make life difficult for law abiding gun owners because criminals don't give a rat's ass whether a gun has a flash suppressor or barrel shroud. Because they wouldn't be able to find you hiding in the brush as easily had you not been allowed to use one. The new gun ban could tell us one thing: the U.S. Government does not wish there to be a well-armed milita to head off any military action they may take against we, the people. The current situations around the world regarding terrorism and re-emerging Socialism/Communism (Russia) could very well be correlating points to this theory. Hate to be the local 'Conspiracy Theorist', but an action sponsored by Big Brother against the U.S. populace could be a very real scenario. I just pray to God that it will not come to pass. Only way to get their agenda through is to disarm the people. Courts don't mean anything if it's like 9th circuit. Alll the alphabet agencies just fallow orders. Remember fire bombed apartment in Philly, Ruby Ridge, Waco, and numerous others that the bias media maked out to be nuts. Idaho wanted to prosecute Gov. agents and Reno imposed Gov. immunity. Goverments are stealing peoples house/property on a regular bases and supreme court upheld it. Liberal Fed. Prosecutors say 2nd amendment not personal right under Clinton. Just remember the anti-America protestors. Their people control Congress. Saw/fought the same types in Central America in the 80's. At the same time Congressional Liberals were praising these butchers. Same as the left is doing now. Know the thought process of most government agencies. Resigned my position under Bush senior. It got worse under Clinton. Most Americans want the gov. to fight terrorist/criminals. Leftist wont tolerate self reliant, free thinking people. I believe almost anything can happen. What I know is that some very bad things are being planned by our "leaders." The disconnect between the ruling class and the American people is soooo great that it makes me cringe. We simply must use all political means available. Otherwise, things will be interesting in the Chinese sense of the word. Because if this bill made it as is right now, Ruby Ridge and Waco will look like fist fights. As I said, the politicians have a serious disconnect. By now, tens of millions of Americans own guns that could be defined as "AWs" by the wording of this rediculous legislation. Politicians only feel safe and pull the shit they do because they have the police,secret service,DC Deathsquads- look up the murder and cover up of a marine in DC at the hands of undercover police and in front of his wife of 1 year and his stepsons,while involved in a toys for tots drive. They are so out of touch it is sickening... And to those who care....I can still voice my opinion as given to me by the FEDERAL Constitution of The United States,so shove off!
