joltash 0
After shooting my Saiga .308 for the first time last week, I realized that with the amount of recoil this rifle puts out, I'll need to get a recoil pad. Anybody know where to get one or had any luck with one that fits the Saiga?
aka108 0
Go to "midwayusa" on the net. The brand name to look for is Past. This recoil shield is worn by the shooter. Nothing goes on the rifle. Costs about 25 to 30 bucks delivered and these things work. You can shoot a heavy caliber bolt action off a bench all day long in comfort. I've used the same one for 10 years and it is as good as the day it was new. Another nice thing about it is you can wear it under a shirt so your shooting buddies that enjoy going home with black and blue bruised sholders won't call you a whussy. cscharlie 107
If you are using the monte carlo stock that the Saiga come with, the pachmayer slip on recoil pad can be bought at wally world (wallmart) for about ten bucks. joltash 0
GOB - when using the blackjack buffer, is the difference really that noticable? And which one did you get - the black or the green?
Blackjack 1
I use the green on mine. I also experienced the black and blues after shooting about 100 rds on my .308, I put a standard AK stock set back on a added a grenade launcher recoil buttpad which stopped the bruising. I paid 40 for mine but have seen them around for about $25. Edited August 31, 2004 by Blackjack
