Saiga Sporter Wood Stock

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I just picked up my Saiga 7.62 and stoked with it. Been looking around the web

and saw the wood stock on the saiga site. Looks awesome and I am now on a mission

to find a set for my rifle. Anybody know where I can get one? Would be grateful and

stoked to find this forum.

A wooden set taken off from a Saiga-308 would work on your X39, but most who have those want to keep them or sell them at over $100 give or take.

For $130ish plus options, I can make one to order in the USA from a variety of hardwoods.

This thread shows examples of what I've made already, but if there's anything you have in mind that you don't see there feel free to ask.

Thanks for the help and quick replys. The sample photos shown look great. One I saw looked a little too pistol "gripish" but tjen saw the others.

I liked the look of the shorter handgaurd (where you see some of the gastube). I assume they come raw and I can stain it to my liking? Let me know and I think I would be interested in getting one done. Thanks again.

They do come ready for the finish of your choice. I can also taylor any style to your preferences. Want a less "grippish" grip, all you have to do is ask.

Would this type of buttstock...

And this type of handguard...

Be more to your liking?

Thanks for posting this question, Chewy. BRG3, I want the style of the first picture above and want to know your asking price for the set. Can you please tell me if I need to be in 922r compliance when I install this? Thanks.

BattlerifleG3 has been MIA pretty much forever. I was in direct commo with him and on his waiting list for a stock set. To be specific, I was number 3. This list was supposed to ease the burden of requests. That was about 3 years ago. He won't respond to emails of which I've only sent no more than a dozen over the past 3 years. All have been polite and merely asking for an update. I get it if you're too busy with life and whatever and can't keep up with demand but at least have the courtesy to come out and proclaim the shop is closed so people will move on.

Here is where I stand:

I have avoided discussions related to stockmaking on this forum because I was not able to function as a business member due to limited sales volume.

"Inactive" is the best term to describe my current stockmaking status. That is the result of the combination of professional and family commitments. I describe myself as "inactive" and not "closed" because nothing is in stone. Any number of changes could cause me to "re-activate". It was a gradual process to realize this, as custom orders took too long to complete and production sets were started and not finished.

I apologize for unreturned E-mails, but in this age it is simply not possible to catch and respond to everything. As infrequently as I check and as many E-mails as come in, I probably miss many, or lose track of the ones requiring a response.

In short, I'm very much alive and active away from the internet. And if I do not leave this internet promptly, my chances of remaining alive and well will decrease.
