JWarren 0
From my THR post: Something has occured to me. We complain and criticize the choices of Presidential candidates and talk about how we don't have a viable pro-2nd Amendment candidate. That's fine. I do it too. However, Zumbogate made me realize something. We HAVE power, and we HAVE a voice. All of us (I hope) have been active in defending our 2nd Amendment Rights in the form of writing sponsors (Zumbogate) and writing Congress men and women (HR 1022). That is a great start to our building a strong voice in the coming 2008 elections. We MUST continue this momentium. It's occured to me that there is a LOT more that we can do. Have any of us contacted the presidential candidates themselves? Whether you are going to support a candidate or not, it is important that they know your position on the 2nd Amendment. Let them know why you will support them or why they WILL NOT have your support. You better believe that other organizations are doing this and brokering deals. We are a grass-roots movement that is fortunate enough to have a few organizations on our side such as the NRA, GOA, JPFO, etc. Add a grass-roots voice to those voices as well! Make them SEE how many of us are out there. Make them realize that we ARE NOT some small, fringe group. Please hit all the sites on this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._pr...election,_2008 Here are a few in particular: http://www.mittromney.com/ http://www.johnmccain.com/ http://www.joinrudy2008.com/ http://www.ronpaulexplore.com/ http://www.gohunter08.com/ http://www.smithforpresident.com/ http://www.cox2008.com/ http://www.brownback.com/ http://www.explorehuckabee.com/ http://newt.org/ http://www.barackobama.com/ http://johnedwards.com/ http://www.hillaryclinton.com/ http://www.joebiden.com/home/ http://www.richardsonforpresident.com/ We can do this guys! Hit em all with a form letter. Hell, if you will do it, I will write a sample form letter and post here for you to use.... or if someone else wishes to, feel free to post on this thread. A Right only exists as long as you are willing to defend it. John Edit: I am NOT advocating anyone on the above list, nor it is all-inclusive as to who has expressed interest. Go to the wikipedia.org link to get more. Also, my order of listing has no bearing on my personal views. Don't get upset for my order, or for any inclusions or exclusions. Genocide 0
Not trying to be lazy but, If you(or someone) could put together a good letter for the forum to copy and paste and send off, we could get a lot more participation.
MD_Willington 11
I could do this, but even then it would be for your benefit, you see I'm here on a greencard and I am not allowed to vote, it is a deportable offense...
Echo_Four 0
I have been in touch with all of the serious Republican candidates at one point or another. None are as supportive of the second amendment as I would like, but none (including Rudy) are hard line against it either. If the people of the forum really need a form letter, I can put one together. But, a form letter doesn't carry too much weight with a candidate. They will pay a little attention because you took the time to send it, but it will quickly be seen for what it is, and they will just kind of count how many come in. If you really want their attention it takes some work to show that you are involved and interested. If you don't take the time to look into the background of the candidate and address specific points with your letters they aren't going to be too worried about you being involved for or against them in the campaign and they will wonder how many of those that sent a form letter will even vote, particularly in a primary. I will admit, I have not spent one second on the Democrats. No matter what they say or claim, they are the enemy to just about everything I hold dear, including the RKBA. I will never vote for a Democrat, so I do not see the need to spend time worrying about their candidates. All I can tell you with any degree of accuracy about the Democratic Party is that Osama Obama and HillBill are both spending a lot of money for nothing. Neither will win the nomination. (I believe Bill Richardson will, but I'm not positive about that part yet.)

uzitiger 193
Fred Thompson if he'll run or Tom Tancredo who is the only representative that wants to close down the border to prevent illegal aliens from entering the country. The Republicans better run a good conservative candidate who can defeat Hitlery Clinton who is a rabid anti gun candidate and demagogue or the Muslim Barack Obama (Osama). Hitlery Clinton has mastered the Adolph Hitler style of ranting and rabble rousing, all she needs is someone who will yell 'sieg heil' or play Nazi marching band 'music' in the background. With her as president you can kiss your gun rights and the rest of your rights goodbye. You can also expect more Waco style raids on innocent gun owners.

Karma 0
I will be voting for Ron Paul. www.ronpaul.org He is the only canidate that seems to have any moral values and actually believes what is written in our Constitution, including true 2nd ammendment rights and a much smaller government. I would recommend a little reading on some of his background and speaches. I was amazed that there was a candidate like him left.

This country is not ready for a female pres or a black one for that matter. They're gonna have to serve as VP before they will ever be elected president.
