inparidel 4
Here are the pics of the lugs that need to be modified to accommodate any and all 5.45 x 39, .223 or Wieger mags. Also. see the "feed ramp" chamfer. I apologize for the not cleaning the rifle first. For more details see the " Using various mags in different AKs" thread.

Stick96 0
I modified my saiga .223 and I didnt have to do all the extra work you did... I cut some 3/4" pipe and filed out a feed ramp. Then I drilled and tapped a machine screw to hold it in. I use Wieger mags that I filed to fit. Many hours of filing the mags and feed ramp I got it to feed reliably racking rounds by hand. So far I have yet to have 1 round jam in the 500 or so that I have shot out of it. Minimize the filing on the gun so that things can be remodified later.
inparidel 4
But the problem with modifying the mags instead of the gun is that the mags will flop around like hell in any other .223 AK you use, unless you don't have any others, in which case the problem is moot. True, but the rule of WECSOG is that you modify the least expensive part. That way if you screw up, you have lost less.
