buckandaquarterquarterstaff 5
I'm teetering on the fence to go and buy my third S308. The gun bill stuff has got me to thinking now's the time for a backup one for the safe. So I need someone to give me that perfect excuse for my wife. Have at it.... kresk 10,063
You need one each of the short and long barrel with synthetic furniture and one with the wood furniture. //push//
buckandaquarterquarterstaff 5
Damn, you got that right! But my woodie is of the 22in variety (with a nice home made curly maple stock). This would be my second synthetic 16. I'm thinking folder maybe. Perhaps I need a visit to the gun porn posts...

Juggernaut 11,054
You know how many guns a guy needs right? Only one more!
dinzag 31
tell her its for the coming zombie apocalypse +1 to that! Tritium is right... Why not a wood 16"? And then a synthetic 22"?
sundog 1
Tell her you need a third one for scoped shooting only . You gotta have a scope too right?
adamsesq 0
Tell her you need a third one for scoped shooting only . You gotta have a scope too right? +1 Quality scopes can cost as much as the weapon itself (I am finding out). Putting on and taking off could screw up the scope. As inexpensive as the .308 is, it is a wise investment in protecting your scope to have its own .308. Note that this argument works very well in a circle. The above is good to get you the .308 even if you don't have the scope already. THEN, well, you have the weapon that is supposed to be dedicated to the scope so you now need the scope... TonyRumore 1,332
Just get one identical the one that you already have and she won't know the difference. Here's what you do.....you tell her you're going to the range and when you pack up your stuff to go, leave one gun case empty when you walk out the door with it. Then you go pick up your new gun and carry it back in the case. She will never know the difference. Tony
aka108 0
Don't BS her. She'll figure that out in a New York minute. Be honest and forthright. Just tell her you simply want the ****in' thing. Worked good for me for 45 years. Edited April 19, 2007 by aka108
buckandaquarterquarterstaff 5
It's in the safe!!! I looked at the calendar and realized it's my Bday. Also the fed return came same day. What better way to celebrate. So, I didn't have to resort to the zombie slaying argument (but I'll keep that one up my sleeve just in case). Now I am in a circular situation, however. I need a new/bigger safe. That will, in turn, need to be filled with stuff.

micah360 6
I've tried the Tony tactic... it works good. But..... make sure you actually go to the range though... they can smell the gunpowder! It's best if you buy the new gun at the range you're shooting at. This way you can be shooting while the bullshit paperwork is going thru.

BattleRifleG3 16
My wife recently asked me if there were any types of guns we should be stocking up on in case of future bans as an investment. This was when I was about to try to pass the idea of a couple Remingtons and Brownings.
