well, I started doing my research on what i can and cant do when the AWB goes away? guess what I found? my state is one of 7 that already has its own AWB in the state level. Here is some of the states that if you live in, you MUST READ The state laws before you do anything to any of your guns.

New York

Massacusettes

Connecticuit

New Jersey

Ohio

California

Illinois

I am reasonably certain that these states are the ones in question, if anyone that lives in these states cares to read thier local gun laws and see if and what they are, I welcome you to share what you find out. My state, NY, is basically like the AWB will never go away, and its 99% the same as the expiring federal law. I blame manhatten and long island for this.

one thing of interest. Maryland is NOT one of these states.

Maryland has 10rd. pistol mag and 20rd. rifle mag limit. Also there is a list of weapons that are "listed". These include anything AK type. Listed means extra paperwork,10 day wait(state gov.working days) and limit of 1 in 30 days.

GOB< your laws there are going to open up a little bit. go have a talk with your local NRA representitives about it. people are already ordering the 13 round glock mags there. I might have it backwards with somewhere like indiana or illinois or michigan, but I think that is what I was told. You will know by whats on the local shop's shelves on wed. afternoon.

As long as they keep things (the incredibly bias news media) relativily quiet over here, Oregon is surprisingly open about this issue. 30 rnd mags - law guys don't really care either way, infact most gun shops dedicate a large portion of thier shops to AW's over here. I'm just conveying the air of attitude, I'll check for sure, there wasn't really anything much said about it last time I checked.

1. States that ban most or all assault weapons, and significantly exceed federal law:

California

2. States that ban many assault weapons, and exceed federal law in numerous respects:

Connecticut and New Jersey

3. States that exceed federal law in some respects, but defer to federal law in others:

Hawaii, Maryland and Massachusetts

4. States that essentially duplicate federal law:

New York

This is the list I found (7) :killer:

That's okay. Still sucks that certain states are being restrictive on AW's. Ohio has a 30 rd

magazine limit, what the hell is the difference? They are ignorant. Funny thing I looked at all the revised codes we have and can't seem to find this, but mr ex cop I know says it exists. I've been seeing all these BS headlines about UZi's and the such and now we can buy AK's, this is such Bullshit! People need to get a damn life. We were never really restricted totally from buying them in the first place, just cosmetic changes on some. I feel for you in NY, they are raping your rights.
