GunOwner 1
I'm going to put a red dot sight on a .223 - could use some input. Any suggestions as to size, type, brands (to seek and those to avoid) and the like appreciated. Is 30mm too small?
railroader 0
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=459296 I have 3 of these on different rifles. They work good, the dot isn't to large(3moa) and they are reliable. Great dot for the money. Mark

GunOwner 1
That one looks like a 1" tube. Given the way red dots work (both eyes open infinite relief) - is there any advantage to a larger tube (42mm or 50mm) vs. a smaller tube (1" or 30mm)?
ArcFault 4
I'm no expert , but this is the one I bought and I love it. http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item...sku=00027730135 The green dot is good for low light.
railroader 0
For me the one inch tube works fine because it is up pretty close to my eye on my rifles. On a handgun where my arms are out streched a 30mm or larger tube probably would be quicker for picking up the sight picture.
