Nothing, however, the point is lost on Senator Dan Kotowski, who continued to dance in blood of VA tech victims and added an amendment to the bill SB1007, which would return the practice of banning a high cap magasines

pretty much like failed Clinton bill. The sad thing is that that scumbag have added in on a bill that deals with Sexual Exploitations of Minors. He gave only 1 hour warning and still was allowed to do so.

The bill and amidment passed the (in)famous Public Health commity. Vote on it is tomorrow. Call your Senator and urge them to vote against that bill. I already did. All three senators in whos districts I owe property.

Senator Peterson's office told me that within today, since they opened, they got 12 rather angry callers opposing that bill.:-)

.gov is sneaky... I bet you saw this kind of crap in Russia...

Lol, not really. Back in USSR they just gave you your marching orders and that was it. "You are forbidden to own a semi auto rifle with a removable clip and more then 10 rnd capacity". You have two choices: Say "Tak tochno", be silent, or break the law. If you break the law they came down on you HARDCORE. They didn't care if you forgot to renew your gun license, they didn't care if you stockpiled the ammo.

They honestly didn't care if you had 10 rifles and shotguns at home. They DID care if you had a pistol, a sawed off shotgun or a high capacity semi auto.

They didn't try to sneak anything into law, because they didn't have to sneak anything. You want to shoot? Join the sharpshooter club. First you will shoot 5.6 sporting weapon, then graduate to other weapons.

You want to hunt? Sure. Here is your double barrel or pump action shotgun - have fun.

However, they made the laws as they saw fit. Frankly, the crime was VERY low back then.

at least they were honest about it though, better than the snake in the grass deal over here

This tacking on crap, amendments, riders, etc. to Bills really ticks me off, especially when it has absolutely nothing to do with the Bill. If there was one thig I could change that would be it.

There is no SB 1007 showing on the Senate Bills website. There is a S1007, which deals with trade to Brazil.

Are you sure about your number? Is this the US Senate?

There is also no Senator Kotowski. Are you talking about a State Senate bill somewhere? Please clarify! Thanks.

I think he's referring to the Illinois State Senate, based on the thread title.

May 1, 2007 - Springfield Report

Today Senator Dan Kotowski continued his practice of dancing in the blood of the Virginia Tech victims, when he put a hostile amendment on Senator A. J. Whihelmi's bill SB1007. With only an hour's notice, Kotowski placed an amendment on SB1007 in the infamous Public Health Committee. The amendment is a magazine ban reminiscent of the failed Clinton Gun Ban, this ban would limit legal magazines to 10 rounds. The original intent of SB1007 was to address the section of the criminal code which deals with the sexual exploitation of children. Is there anything this guy won't do?

The committee vote on the amendment was 7 yeas, 0 nays, and 3 present.

This bill could come up for a vote as early as tomorrow, May 2. Please call your State Senator and urge him or her to oppose SB1007.

Last week on Thursday, Representative Annazette Collins broke rank with those urban legislators who typically vote for anti-gun legislation, and voted against HB758, a bill that would pretty much outlaw private transfers. Now this week, she is getting beat up very hard on her vote against HB758.

We are asking our people to make supporting "thank you calls" to Representative Collins. Her 10th District Phone is 773-533-0010. Her Springfield phone is 217-782-8077.

You're talking on the state level. I doubt me calling any of them would impress them since I can't vote for them. I kinda figured when you said '3 Senators' you were talking state level.

Heck. Even if you live in the state, unless you live in the senators or congressman's district, they do not care. Sorta remind me of Communist Party of Soviet Union officials. They reacted the same way: "Are you from the district under mine jurisdiction? No? Then do not bother me again or I will have you escorted out by police." This is rediculous. Is this the leaders that Thomas Jefferson would approve?
