New guy needs a point in the general direction

Recommended Posts

Hello all I just bought a Saiga 12 and I want to start the process of converting it. I have been doing alot of reading and I am looking for a person or company that can do QUALITY conversion work, such as moving the trigger, adding a folding stock, refinishing etc...I also need a place for parts (tromix) and any other suggestions. I am in South Florida is there anyone local that you know of for the conversion?

:blues: I wanted to say thanks to alot of you guys who have posted I have learned alot from reading all the posts.

Thanks

Ken

Ken,

Welcome to the boards. If you live in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami there is a guy who runs Gunecologist and he does good conversions and uses quality parts. I was going to have him convert my .308 but I havn't got it yet. Anyway, he came highly suggested to me by a co-worker and he had a few conversions of S-12's in the works. I don't remember his ph. # but I hope you can find him in the book. Anyway, good luck!

No debate there: Tromix is the undisputed king of Saiga conversions.

But if you can't wait, (can't blame you, I couldn't either!) scroll down a bit and check out the thread started by JAMMER,

"Taking reservations for next batch of E-TAC S-12 conversions"

Esteban does good work, I bet if you drop him a line he'll send you some pics of his conversions and a quote.

You could also try contacting Red Stick/Red Jacket Firearms, C&S Metall-Werkes, or Millena Enterprises as well.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the club!

Tromix does the best conversions in the business.

Tony will be accepting new orders for full conversions on September 1st, if you can wait.

.......Let's see......This is August 13th, so that'd be a wait of 18 days to place an order to get the #1, top-of-the-heap, most kick-ass Saiga conversion

available anywhere.......

Hmmmmmmmm, what should I do??????

(See below, bottom line.........literally....)

Since we're discussing the Tromix backlog, I have a question. What is the preferred method for placing an NFA order? Do I have to register with the ATF first then place the order? Or do I place the order then let Tony sit on it until my papers clear? Or do I place the order, have it sent to my local CIII/SOT, then have him transfer it to me? Everytime I think I understand this stuff I confuse myself again. I already own an SBS and a SBR but I bought them directly from my dealer so I never had to mess with this sort of thing.
