If its a pre-ban M-11 I'd snap it up, they're getting tough to find. I love mine, especially after I converted it to take a conventional type firing pin.

I also have the MPA STEN lower for mine. Its the SMG I carry when I dont carry my UZI. ;) Which I bought, incidently after recalling the line from "Patriot Games"

"Americans hold their breath every time a little girl falls down a well in the backyard, and you shot at one with a submachine gun."

goes nice next to the AK.

My next project is a 9x39mm supressed AK to look like the VAL sniper.

Common people like ourselves cannot own any machinegun unless it was registered in '86 or earlier. It would be legal for a Class II manufacturer to convert it but he could only sell to another dealer or LE.

I got my first Class III weapon several months ago. SWD M11/9 that has been converted to take 32 rd Sten mags. I have a couple uppers for it and it came with a can as well ( Bowers CAC-9 silencer ). Got a decent deal on it. Planning on setting it up with a slowfire conversion to bring the RoF down from 1200 rpm to around 650 rpm.

It is defintely a little bullet-hose =)

Hey USMC_LB, was is difficult getting through all the red tape on getting your class III weapon? I'm about to start the process on a MAC10 9mm that a guys selling for $900 (is that good? sounds alot better then what I see online) I'm on active duty right now for the war and want to get this going while the $$$ is still coming in (My usual National Guard pay is pittiful) when I got my concealed deadly weapons permit I asked the Sherriff in my county if he needed to sign for a class III weapon....he didn't know what I was talking about but luckily another one in the office did and said that they needed to sign something. I'm guessing this is all going to be a big headache. :(

depends all on the people in your area.

The whole process was pretty painless for me.

First find yourself a Class III dealer. A regular FFL cant do the transfer for you.

He will know where you can get your Form4's signed off on.

Once he sends off the paperwork you have around a 3-8 month wait on the BATF to approve your Form4 and then it is yours.

You will have to pay a $200 tax on each NFA item.

The Class III dealer will charge a fee as well ( from $25 up to $100 per item )

If you have any other questions please feel free to email me ( USMC_LB@hotmail.com )

OK, thanks, I know I have a Class III dealer nearby I can go find to do the transfer. I can't wait for it all to go through! :super: My next project will be finding a Saiga-12 with a pistol grip instead of the usual rifle style stock I see at the dealers in my area. If you have any suggestions...I'm listening ;)

KYSoldier- What MOS?

I spent January-May at Knox this year and am comitted never to return in the winter. I did a stint in ROTC and spent some time at Knox in the summer and was amazed at the swing in the seasons. I dont think I could ever imagine being colder....0400 formations for four hours with nothing but winter weight BDUs....<shudders>

Hey, small world....good to here that ROTC makes it rough on ya! I'm 75H (Personnel Services Specialist) My Kentucky National Guard unit was mobilized in February to come here and assist in the the mobilization of troops going oversees for the war in Iraq. Until this week I was processing soldiers (at Bldg 5101, MILPO), but now they have me processing Basic Trainees at Coppel Hall. It's cool though, they are afraid of everybody. Oh yeah, the weather's great now ;)

It makes me sick to think about it.........Many moon ago before the ban, I bought a M11 9mm brand new at a gunshow in Topeka, KS for about 170.00. Being a poor college student at the time, I sold it about six months later at a different local gun show in Manhattan, KS for 130.00 as I recall and had only put about 200 rds. thru it. I needed the money at the time. If I had only known then. :cryss: As I recall, You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it using sights. I think it was intended more for a "spray and prey" application, but it was fun to shoot. I kick myself everytime I think about the fact that if I had held onto it, I could have turned it for a pretty good profit after the ban and got something a little more to my liking. Oh, well. We learn from our errors. I am sure that dealer that I sold it to turned a nice profit on it after the ban.

I see $170 and sigh with frustration. <_< I'm looking at getting a Class III MAC 10 from a guy in another state. That means a $200 tax to transfer between states and another $200 to transfer between individuals. Still with the additional $400 of BS, his price beats what I see online from dealers. :killer:
