Another thing for folks to consider - Sometimes things get done faster overall when you group them according to category, not order sequence. That may not feel good to you if a number ahead of yours is coming along faster, but the way to understand it correctly is that it would be even later if the many stock sets that came before you weren't done as fast as they could be in total.

And turning down new customers is one of the most principled things a person can do when rate of demand exceeds rate of production. It means that when you do end up doing business with him, he'll make sure you're taken care of in good time instead of backlogging farther than he can effectively predict the timeframe for. A more common business practice would be to commit as many people as you can and let people be let down, because you already have the sale. Tony is choosing maximum ethics over maximum profit and deserves respect for it, whether you choose to do business with him or end up going another route.

VERY well said! Agreed!

As an owner of a production based company, (we print shirts).

I think these rules apply for any small-med sized production shop

that require any type of "Art" in their craft.

I offer our customers an TWO of the following

Low Prices, Quality, & Speed

You can get it cheap and fast but it wont be our best work.

you can get it well made and cheap but it will take a while.

you can get speed and quality but it will CO$T you big time!

I like that...I'm gonna make a sign like that! lol

Reminds me of a sign I once saw in a bike shop regarding hourly rates.

It said something like...

Labor = $20 per hour

....$30 if you watch

....$40 if you help!

:smoke:

Yup -- that's a standard one, especially around the Pentagon.

Cheap, fast, good -- pick two!

Just for my own amusement, and so people here might share in my joy-(or more likely hope I slip in the shower and land a large shampoo bottle) I just thought I would say that I shipped my S12 to Tromix for basic training. He has been received and is undergoing multiple lessons in ass-kickery. A father has never been so proud. Moo ha ha ha ha ha ha! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Due to the lack of available new S-12's to work on, I had to skip ahead and work on customer supplied guns. I am in the mid 200's right now, but when more S-12's become available, I will have to go back to around 185 and start over doing the complete gun orders. If you are on the waiting list and have your own gun to send in, call Melissa at 918 251-5640 to make arrangements.
