THAT is the american way. When anyone -ESPECIALLY the punk-assed cowards that have never put THEIR ASSES on the line try to question the patriotism of those who served and put their lives on the line , I have a serios problem with that. Those of us who served in that time frame suffered abuses from to many non serving assholes and even from older vets. we will never again let ANYONE attack the soldier for the war! In 1972, Kerry met with N.V. in Paris 3 times on how to run the anti-war effort. This is when our boys were still on the ground and dying. His service for our country was a big joke. I respect anyone that has served but not him! He knew what he wanted to do with his life, and knew that being in the service would help him to accomplish his goals. That is why he got out as fast as he did. Did you know that he had a less than honorable discharge? In 1979 Jimmy Carter upgraded his discharge, In 1998 Clinton gave him an honorable discharge and then had his records sealed. He knew that this would be the only way that he could run for president if he had a chance to do so. And about if I have been in the military. When I got out of school when I was 18, I was set up to go into the Marines with two of my friends. That night I was in a hit and run on my motorcyle. And they never did catch the SOB. I about lost my left arm. It was broke and about torn off at the elbow, and my left leg was broke and cut severly. So I lost out on being able to serve my country. Kerry is still a decorated american war hero. AFTERWARD he got stupid! That happened to a lot of vets. One of my high school buds died in an alley of alchol poisoning. He too was a hero. He was never right after nam, but still a hero. You are a punk assed wannabe that wouldn't have made your 1-1 day in boot. Attack Kerry for the Stupid things that he says-"armor piercing30-30" "tax guns and tax ammo" BUT unless and untill YOU have a war record shut up about his. Where are your silver and bronze star's? Christ, if you wanted to kick the ass of every non-serving liberal (yes, the same ones who call Bush a "chickenhawk" but yet have no military service to show for themselves), you'd better eat a carb bar or three and get ready to kick ass for the next two or three months straight. Anyway, I sent the picture to one of my buds (who's a gung-ho Navy first Jarhead), and he thought it was pretty hilarious. Besides, being ex-Army myself (maybe not qualified to slander?), there's many Army Generals (like the one who sucked ass up to the Clinton's (can't remember his last name right now (thinking Franks?), but that wouldn't be right?) that I wouldn't mind telling to FOAD. (And I'd do it as a civillian too in a second!). After all, the First Amendment still applies for everybody, right? (I'd rather have her tounge in my ear anyday compared to Fat Mikes, whiney Bill Maher's, or Jon Stewart's). (BTW - do you think any of the last three listed ever wore a uniform and put their lives at risk for the right to express their blather? What burns my ass is when ANYONE including vets berate valor or the blood behind the medal. That is NOT the AMERICAN way.Whatever Kerry did afterward is fair game. But anyone who attacks the soldier or belittles the decoration will find me chewing their ass off like a badger on speed! When I came home the majority of people screwed us vets over every chance they could. There are vets returning now from another war that is not as popular as some think. It is going to get a lot more unpopular. We must NEVER allow vet bashing in this country again. Support the soldier/sailor /airman-VET. As I speak there are wounded and shattered men and women stuffed in hovels that we call 'veterans hospitals'-many of these I woulden't send my cat to. 'Regular ' troops can return to the hospital nearest their home. National guard and reserves do not qualify. They all have the same Purple Heart.They all bled the same color blood. Send your angry letters to your congressmen and senators.We need equal treatment and respect for our hero's NOT assholes looking for a cheap laugh. But yet he seems proud to trumpet his time in Southeast Asia right now... Sounds like another "waffle" to me. I agree with you, don't denegrate the sacrifice of the serviceman/woman or the meaning behind the awards. But if you are going to throw your medals over the White House fence in disgust or to prove a point. Don't go out and buy replacements to crow about later.
