Tigerclaw_x 1
The reviews I red are REALLY mixed. People seem to like it in 5.56, but dislike it in 7.62x39. Anyone has any experience with this rifle? Are the ones for sale here are just cosmetic remake of crappy Romanian AKs? Also, buying FAL. Any advice?
JK-47 33
I only know what I've read on the net- which is that they are Romanian rifles of WASR level fit and finish, only with non standard handguards and a shorter sight radius.
Bad Bob 0
Also, buying FAL. Any advice? If you can afford it, I would go with Arizona Response Systems (Mark Graham, 'Mr. FAL:' http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/ ) or DSA ( http://www.dsarms.com/ ). 'No ifs, ands, or buts about it.' There are a lot of Century & home-built FALs out there, so it's kind of a crap-shoot buying anything else (although I had a Century Izzy FALO that was 100% reliable, and my own builds have turned out very well! ;>). You might want to run over to The FAL Files Forums ( http://www.falfiles.com/forums/ ) and get some up-to-date input there... My hard drive 'bought the farm' a while back, so all I have is a paper copy, that wasn't Gunplumber's final version (I printed it off the internet 01/27/98). If you want a copy of what I've got, I'll photocopy it & send it your way - just let me know! ;>) Edited January 18, 2008 by Bad Bob

Whit DSA or Arizona Response Systems you cant not go bad but like I say before save your money for it. Or like Bad Bob say check the FAL files, you never know.
devildog1122 0
I hate so say it, but the WASR is better than STG as far as fit ans workmanship. I have held both 762 and 223 at the local gunshop and they are the worst rifles I have ever seen in my life. Get Saigas.
kfb2b 0
I am not sure about the 223 version, as Ihave not seen one. I bought a Saiga about 8 months ago because the 223's were not out then. he 7.62's were, and when I saw one, I bought a saiga. I know that the first two batches to come into the US were total crap, and there were alot of guys having problems witht the bullets hitting the brakes and brakes actually flying off! The 7.62 version I saw had a really flimsy stock on it too. I had read some ggod things about the gun lately in 7.62, but eveything in 223 I have read is crap. this is basically a price-point gun. Do not buy it and think you are buying a Galil, or a Valmet, or anything else but exactly what you are paying.

monomonk 0
I have no personal knowledge of the STG, but I wouldn't buy one. What's the point? I bought a WASR-2, high capacity, from Aim Surplus, I guess it is a Century product. The rifle is great, really excellent trigger. Wonderful value and the 5.45 ammo and the mags are relatively cheap. Saigas are new rifles and good ones (I like my .308 and .223), but they don't come in 5.45. Monomonk

I am picking up the 223 this weekend and another 762, and will convert. I used Promags in my old 762 with out any problems do the promag 223 work? Yeh Im cheap on my mags, 14.99 for the 223 pro or 24.99 for the Bulgy 223 ouch! but 10.00 bucks is worth it not to have to fuck with the FTF issues.
