Wolf 12's Skyrocketing in price?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I visited my ol' standby Wolf 12 gauge depot, "Cheaperthandirt.com" in Fort Worth to score some slug shells to replace what I burned at the range last weekend. They typically sell 'em for $125/250, and since they, like me, are in Texas, shipping is usually cheap and kind of offsets the sales tax that I have to pay (since we're both in Texas...)

Well, to my surprise, the price had spiked from +- $125 a case to $185 a case for the Wolf 2-3/4" 1 oz. rifled slugs. Whoa! Not exactly cheaper than dirt.....

So in a panic, I checked out Midway, and found they have the slugs in stock and are selling them at the $124/case price still, so I bought two, and since they also had Wolf .308 in stock (!) I picked up a case of them as well.

Don't know how long those prices will last, but it appears the ammo draught is getting better and worse at the same time...It's available, but it looks like it's gonna eat more of yer' lunch soon...

Just a "heads-up..."

You can thank the FED for lowering interesting rates for the benefit of Wall Street in their attempt to prevent the market from going belly up - effectively making the dollar worth less abroad. Expect all imported goods and food to rise due to their decision to screw the middle class....

FWIW, ammo is up across the board. Ain't just Wolf or just 12ga. All ammo is outrageous and will continue to rise as the dollar devalues and stockpiles are bought up by random third world armies and paramilitaries. The war don't help much either, as many domestic suppliers are busy filling their military contracts. (Anyone try to buy 5.56 lately?)

Besides the Chinese buying up all the lead and copper for Military purposes, I'm sure the price increase can also be attributed to American firearms owners getting ready for a possible (most likely! :angry2: ) gun hating Democrat to assume the office of C.I.C.

And I can't blame them in the least. :cryss:

Yeah, I was just trying to point out that CTD jumped $60/case almost overnight. That doesn't sound like someone who may be trying to remain competitive in that market, unless it's a signal of things to come. A nearly 25% bump in price is more than minor....

Generally, CTD has had a history of being "competitive" with their pricing, at least...

And, of course, when shipping stuff such as cases of ammo, you have to look at the whole picture.

I was just hoping to give a "heads-up" before everybody spiked their pricing.

250 case of wolf 00 for like $118.00

shit - I'm buying some now then

thanks for the heads up!

Bought my 00buck wolf online right now. 133.00 shipped

Not going to shoot it. Saving it for the Zombies I guess.

I've got affordable Wally World White box for fun times at the range.

Got me a case of 250 rds of 6 birdshot for 65.00 2 days ago at Wally World.

I like shooting clays with my S-12. Had fun shooting clays today with shaneman down in Florence, TX. S-12's had a bunch of clay shooters trying our S-12's out and loving em!

LOL

yeh, that 15 pellet buck is definately a cannon round, alright....

go price bulk 30-06. I would buy some right now, but I dont HAVE a 30-06. not much shoots 30-06 in war now. its disproportionally cheaper....not much uses it in war arsenals these days, is part of that........

No. My S-12 prefers 2 3/4....the 3" I have had the occasional problem with.

Saiga'a are neat. Hell. Mag fed shotgun. But I want it to run everytime.

I dont have problems with 3" shells at all...

what are you experiencing?

Missed this question.

B. I have some feeding problems with 2 out of 5 of the 8 rounders that I use for shooting. I don't shoot the 5rds much so no idea there. But they hang-up,and FTF, failure-to-feed....about 2rds a mag.

I see why 3" would be sweet. But a coupla rounds of 00buck 9 pellet 2 3/4 ought to persude even a detemined individual.

Thanks!

I got mine at 118.00 but I'll buy more. Other than the lined cardboard holding the wadding, and pellets in. These are great out of mine.

And I generally shoot wolf out of all my AK types, as a result of not using it( and saving money) out of any of my AR's.

One reason to love AK's. Wolf is better than some of the seriously corrosive slightly cheaper surplus I've bought.

I want to warn folks to watch out for Gander Mountain... they are GOUGING with their prices on ammo. BADLY!!!!

They have the 525 box of .22LR from remington... the "golden bullets" what you normally pay 10 bucks at wally world... they want TWENTY TWO BUCKS!!!! ( $22.00 ) WTF?!?!?!!?

The rest of their ammo is out of sight and usually DOUBLE the going rate of any other local retailer...

I have gotten some GREAT deals from GM in the past, but I cant understand their pricing on ammo... WTF?!?!?

I just picked up some ammo from sportsmansguide myself...

1000 rounds of wolf classic for $188.00 and 2 packs of 480 rounds for the K-31 swiss ( 7.5 X 55 ) at $224.00 / 480 rds.

They tacked on about 50 bucks for shipping too... but it still beats the prices I have seen anywhere else... when you figure in either tax, or shipping... they had the best price going...

Just browsed past Midway to stock up on Wolf 12 gauge 2-3/4" 1 oz. slugs...Went up from $124 two weeks ago to $177 today. Like I tried to tell ya, it's not just that CTD is gougin' here, ammo is skyrocketing across the board.

BTW, Sportsmans Guide is out of Wolf slugs, so I couldn't compare...

Better buy before they jump again. Wish I had replaced the case I shot two weekends ago before now...

Sigh....
