Hi there,

I am in the Army and a person who enjoys commie guns but I need to get up to speed with the whole 922r compliance stuff.

I have a NIB Nornico SKS I bought on GB a couple of months ago. It came with the origional box which described it as a sporter.

Although the bayonet lug was present, no bayonet was included. I think the rifle looks naked without one.

Does anyone know if it is legal to place a bayonet on this rifle?

Thank you.

Uncle Klinton passed a law to get at those evil chinese. No bayonets on the Chinese SKS rifle.

TAKE THAT CHINA!

For real, all the dealers were told to remove all the bayonets from their stock, and it's illegal to have one on the Chinese SKS rifles.

Is this before or after he got caught importing (pronounced smuggling) a shit ton of Chicom AK's?

If the bayonet was on there before Nov 1990 and the weapon had been imported before Nov 1990,

the import ban does not affect it. The same is true for

Chinese AKs. Pre 1990-> Type 56 Bayonet , flash hider, pistol grip

Post 1990->Mak 90 No bayonet, no flash hider, no pistol grip

Nice looking rifle -- I don't have much to add to the legal discussion, since it's all been covered. However, check out the link to my SKS FAQ if you're interested in all the legal references.

That website is very helpful.

Thanks.
