zakmatthews 14
Can a good gunsmith tweak the mag well on my Saiga 308 so it better fits the aftermarket magazines? I just hate the idea of clunky and wobbly magazines, and I really don't wanna wrap each mag in electrical tape. I want a smooth clean gun. Suggestions? ClickClickD'oh 1
You could try to JB weld some thing metal pieces inside the magwell to replicate the dimples in other AK type recievers. This may cut down some of your mag wobble. Just remember, a small amount of mag wobble isn't a bad thing in AKs and is purely an aesthetic fix
1liter 20
Are you referring to the stock 8 round mag or after market?
zakmatthews 14
Are you referring to the stock 8 round mag or after market? I'm referring to the FBMG mags. The factory 8's fit great.
1liter 20
That is pretty normal. All my Bunny mags have some side-to-side play to them, but work excellent. The 8's lock up nice and tight. If there is a problem with the mags, I know FBMG is willing to work with you.
HEADHUNTER 0
You could add a little JB weld to the mag body in the areas needed for a tighter fit, you can always sand it down if you put too much on.

How well does JB weld hold on plastic?
uglyrussian308 0
Mine did the same thing. I fixed mine when I converted my 308s to pistol grip. When I attached the trigger guard I added metal on to the mag catch plate to increase tightness of the lock up. It now locks up tight on the catch. There is still some very slight side to side play but its nothing like the wobble it exhibited before it was modified. The draw back of this mod is I can't use the eight rounders unless of course I file the engagement lug on the mag to fit. No big deal since I don't use the eight rounders anymore.
