strwman5 0
During my current wandering around the country I found a local dealer with South African 7.62 NATO for $8.99 a box. Is this something I should buy all of, none of, or a few? The last time I bought South African stuff I got 500 rounds for $100 so I am kinda out of touch with the current market. Oh yeah, of the current SA I have, I have shot zero rounds of it through any of my .308s. It was kinda my hold out ammo. Thanks, Devil Edited February 26, 2008 by Devil in Baggy Pants
MD_Willington 11
R1M1 BALL 7,62 x 51mm type stuff? It is good stuff. Not sure if PMP makes it... that would be Pretoria Metal Pressings a Division of Denel (Pty) Ltd ZA http://www.pmp.co.za/prod03.htm

MD_Willington 11
Price wise, check around for how much the battle packs are going for... 7 to 10 boxes in a battle pack IIRC... http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php?caliber=.308 Edited February 26, 2008 by MD_Willington
john762 0
S.A. Battlepacks---7 bx.of 20 (140rds.) At $9/bx.($63/battlepack) is just about as low a price as you will probably find. I remember a while back after picking-up a few dozen at $21 each,I quit that supplier when his price increased to $23---yeah,hindsight! Save your S.A. for the stach & go to "Cheaper than Dirt" where presently the '75 Indian (50 rd.w/strippers in bandliors) is presently priced at $20--ok blasting ammo(avoid the 90's Indian-308 if you find any).Yeah, once again,I went elsewhere after picking-up 30/40 bandliors when the price rose above $7.50.Presently, ANY .308 at .50/rd. is a lucky find. Good hunting!
