Bolton AK-100 gas block

Recommended Posts

Just my 2 cents, but for that price I would want more detailed explanation on how the windage and elevation adjustments are achieved with that front sight. Unless you are altering your rear sight to an aftermarket adjustable model, all sight-in adjustments are made to the Front sight of a standard AK variant such as a Saiga rifle.

You may want to consider this one from Ace Ltd. (same company with the excellent buttstocks) as it's less expensive, easier to install and keeps the fully adjustable front sight:

What you may have seen is Krebs KTR here is a pic of one

KTR08.jpg

and the bolton looks like a copy of Krebs FSGB, well I see no details on how it is

zero. When come to parts like GB you cant just buy any cheap crap around

This stuff is not like installing a cheap rail on a gun, if the stuff don't fit

right you can have gas leak on the Front and rear of the gas block and yes

I have seen it, when something is not fit right on the barrel, like dimensions

are not done right for the part to be press on the barrel. Probable any moron

will come and say that he install one and works great, but you will have to see

quality of work and gun after 200 or 300 rounds and see all marks of

burn powder on the barrel because gas leak. Is some stuff you cant fuck around on the gun

unless you know what you doing or leave it to the pros.

If you need any help, PM me what are Floridians for if we cant help each others.

PS: Like Ronswin says, the ACE FS gas cover may be not the hottest looking

sight but is a lot cheaper and easy to do and you don't mass round with the

GB at all, plus you can zero it easy with your original rear sight on the rifle.

Even you can make it a part of the GB if you thigh the bolts and after you

can silver solder it to the GB, letting you take the bolt after is done and

you don't have any problems installing the original saiga front hand guard

on the gun. To tell the truth you can make a gun with the ACE FS hood

and the original hand guards and a nice muzzle brake or flash hider look

really cool, some people even think is a HK rifle LOL.

I agree with vjor. A lot of money for a "clamp on" gas block. Personally, when it comes to gas blocks, I prefer a press on and pin setup as per most original gas guns. When you get gadgety like this device, you're rolling the dice on reliability.
