MR.K 0
Scrolling back in these here threads (back about 04) came across someone who said they had lost some accuracy when they changed to the AK style grip....Has anyone else noticed this ? I get my 308 on Tuesday (paid 415 delivered).....just don't want to hurt it ...if I fix it.....I can't see how it would make any difference....thanks all..
jarhead 1
I took my newly converted S308 to the range last Sunday and found the accuarcy greatly improved. I had installed the Red Star Arms fire control and I believe this is the biggest reason for the improved accuarcy.
shaneman153a 39
I don't recall ever hearing a conversion making a rifle less accurate. You would have to screw it up pretty bad to do that IMO. I think most folks gain accuracy because of improved ergonomics (PG vs. yee-haw stock), better triggers (even just a G2), etc. I cut and crowned my barrel when I did the conversion and believe all of those things factored into better accuracy. I guess it depends on how extensive you go on the conversion, but most folks aren't screwing with the major factors (Barrel). In a basic conversion, the changes take place behind the bolt so you should be good to go.
uglyrussian308 0
Conversion should have no effect. Short of screwing up your barrel crown when you thread it for the flash suppressor, there is really nothing in the regular conversion that should cause any degradation of accuracy. Mine shoots as good as ever. I did however elect not to thread my barrel.
