Bvamp 604
why not just get a PSL?
crucified 2
why not just get a PSL? because i live in california and am not allowed to have any fun! aren't the PSL's up there in price as well? i figured, "wouldn't it be nice if my M38 nagant and my saiga met and had an illegitimate russian child after a hard night of partying with too much vodka?" don't really need a sniper rifle. just a nice carbine. crucified 2
and the saiga is a fairly inexpensive rifle both to buy, and to convert.
mr. fudd 0
why not just get a PSL? Because Saiga's are just so much nicer. I've got both a S308 and a PSL and they shoot comparably well, but the workmanship on the Saiga is just MUCH better.
taurussvt 0
A Saiga shooting the 7.62X54R would be pretty impressive. That round carries a whole lot of punch to it. Magazine capacity would be a bit of an issue seeing as the 54R is so much bigger, but who cares.

taurussvt 0
So what, just use a longer receiver so that you can fit the longer magazine? This is starting to sound like people just want a Saiga PSL. Not that that's a bad thing.
terrace_mountain 0
a true Saiganov? that would be exxxxxxxxxxcellent. I dont' see why it would be too hard to pull off. IZHMASH produces the AK 100 series as well as the current line of SVDs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new Dragunovs even feature the same skeleonized stock that is being put out on some of our beloved Saiga Hunting Carbines. pic from wiki's SVD article: minus the muzzle/brake flash hider, it seems pretty "sporting" to me.
