EddieCar 0
I've never been hunting before, a friend has envited me to go hunting with him this Deer season. So I have a few questions. Would the Saiga-20 be strong enough for Deer hunting? (slugs ofcourse) Could I get away with using 20 guage or should I just get a 12 guage? If I get a 12 guage should it be the the long barrel Saige 12 or could I get away with the shorter 19" version? Thanks in advance.
TPABA 0
I go hunting with a 20 guage pump... maybe I'll use a 12 guage this time... I would like to take the 20 guage, but first I need to find 3" slugs for the 20 guage... that would be sweet. It will kill a deer... I kill them with just one shot... I was taught one shot kill everytime. 20 guage will kill a deer if you shoot it right... aim right for heart and lungs... you'd be surprised... a 3" slug for the 20 guage is pretty cool also, but make sure your gun takes 3" first. I haven't been able to find 3" 20 guage slugs yet, for years I have been using 2.75" slugs with my 20 guage pump... one shot kill everytime... if I hit... if not... I keep shooting. I go bow hunting also.
EddieCar 0
Federal makes 3" slugs for 20 gauge. I saw them at Walmart $10 for five shells. Yes my Saiga 20 does take 3" slugs. Looks like I'll be using 3" slugs this deer season . Thank you for the info...
TPABA 0
The 3" slugs that federal makes and that are at walmart are sabot slugs... I need rifled slugs since I use a smoothbore. Turkey hunting is probably fun with a saiga... my pump will have to do.
