rocinante 100
Looking good. Where did you get the stock adapter that has that angle to it and how did you do the rear sights?
gtnichols 51
The stock adapter is from Davids Collectibles http://www.tickbitesupply.com/stocks.html The rear sights are just the remains of the 109 sighting rail I removed, it is all kinds of out of whack from the factory I still have to sight it in, but it looks like a really good match up to the raised front sight so far. there is a small pin that retained the rail at the back that I put back in, and it seems to line up with the top of the front sight. I will check accuracy and report back.
RPD 0
Nice looking gun man. How's the stock angle/comfort while shooting it?
gtnichols 51
I get to find out tomorow Haven't fired it yet, I have really long arms so I wanted an adjustable stock for my wife to shoot to I can rest my cheek on top of the stock and site down the barrel nicley. wish I has some broken arrow break in lube for tomorow,.. I'll post results Nice looking gun man. How's the stock angle/comfort while shooting it? Edited March 15, 2008 by Gas Giant
gtnichols 51
just got back from shooting, The good News: I fired 175 rounds The bad news: see good news above The gas selector switch #'s 1 and 2, I keep getting those confused #1 for the low power, #2 for high power. I am so stoked, there was a recoil buffer installed on this gun when I bought it, so I left it there, I forgot to take it off today to see how it worked with out it. the higher power ammunition cycled perfect, the lightest light target loads did not cycle worth a crap there were some in-between rounds that I really liked I marked the boxes as I was shooting to remember. I'll report on those later. The gun seemed to want to shoot high and a little left, but I haven't completed sighting in yet,.. oh and the muzzle brake flew off at about 75 rounds, it was not damaged, just came loose. I think my shoulder is going to be sore I really like the CAR 4 position stock, I could use a raised cheek rest I think about 3/4" or so. :killer: :super: :super: Nice looking gun man. How's the stock angle/comfort while shooting it?
Racer 27 37
Gas Giant the gas selector the Saiga is 1 for high power and 2 for low power. They way that I remember is 1 is a smaller number then 2 is. Smaller = less gas. From Tromix http://www.tromix.com/Welcome.htm Then go to Saiga service tips on left side of page. Shotty is looking nice. Edited March 17, 2008 by Racer
gtnichols 51
Oh crap you are right,... let's see #1 is for high power and only let's one part of the gas gas through, because it is so high power, that's all it needs, #2 is for low power because it lets twice the amount of gas through,,. to cycle correctly. GOT IT! Thanks, Gas Giant the gas selector the Saiga is 1 for high power and 2 for low power. They way that I remember is 1 is a smaller number then 2 is. Smaller = less gas. The Tapco AK Triangle side folder looks pretty good, anyone have experience good or bad with those? These are sweet! http://www.tapco.com/proddesc.aspx?id=3835...42-c6aa62cf8691 Edited March 26, 2008 by Gas Giant
hobbyshooter 59
What is the best way to secure a brake or choke? My Polychoke would come loose after only a few mags so I was constantly keeping an eye on it. Until I blue locktited it. The only problem then was I bent the tool trying to remove it, and never did get it to budge...
