oregonshooter 0
Anyone got the E-Clip size for a .223 conversion?
nalioth 405
Take your pivot pins to the hardware store and get yourself some hitch pins. Much easier to use, imho (less blood spilled in the process). Edited April 10, 2008 by nalioth
oregonshooter 0
I just saw that over on the AKfiles. I'm at work and have access to both but brought no pin with me. Looks like 7/32" is close (4mm is actual?) and the hitch pin...? Those hold just as well then? They mentioned the e-clips as too thin and having to double up. I'll take home a few hitch pins and try them out. Thanks!

I don't know the exact size of the hitch pins I found ( got 'em out of an unmarked box with a bunch of different sizes in it ), but ithe one in the picture has the proper wire diameter to fit down in the slot of the pin just right. mollysman420 19
The hitch pins work awsome . I just switched to them from e clips on my 223. I have put 200 rounds through mine w/no problems.
dinzag 31
+1 I am stocking those hitch pins and will have 'em up on the site soon. Much easier to remove and reinstall than e-clips. 3/16" is the proper size you want.
oregonshooter 0
Awesome din! Nice work on the parts BTW, are you using CNC? I was expecting homemade grade, but your bullet guide is top notch craftsmanship.
dinzag 31
Thanks dude, they are milled, but not with a cnc.
engbob 0
hitch pins!?! what a damn fine idea! You get a Gold Star my friend
TacoMalo 0
I couldn't find the right size e-clip 7/32" is just slightly too big and no hitch pins so I used hairpin clips, similar to the hitch pin and they worked like a champ they're thicker and fill in that gap perfectly.
