Bvamp 604
I like the nut brown ale samuel smith makes. I dont like my beer dark for the most part, but that one is pretty darn tastey.
Guest AKhunter
I live in Juneau, where the Alaskan Brewery is--the Amber is really good, but they make a Smoked Porter that is only available in the winter--if you ever get the chance, try it. AK
Bigfoot Wallace 0
love to akhunter but it is not sold or distributed in texas. I checked online and it would cost me 32 for a case and 38 dollars to ship it!!!! The Ak trip was a once in a lifetime deal. Damn that was a good beer though.
Smiley_Guy 2
Bigfoot, You in Texas too? There's a great beer called Mississippi Mud. It's dark but not bitter and smooth, smooth, smooth... but I usually stick to Coors Light
Guest AKhunter
A yankee in Texas drinking a scab beer? What *is* the world coming to? When I lived in Texas, I drank mostly Shiner Bock. AK
chris410 0
Sammy Smith's are ale's, but very rich and smooth, not bitter with a light sweetness. God damned good. I live up in ME, I dont know where they distribute to but they are good. Couple different brews. I mostly drink dark beers, but nothing too bitter. Anyone ever have the smuttynose barleywine's? Bigfoot Wallace 0
Missisippi mud is good, shiner is the old stand by. They make a great summer beer called summer stock. never had the barleywine

AK and some of the bars in Texas sell shiner as an "import" and charge $3.75 a bottle i guess they've never been to Shiner, Texas.
aka108 0
For a beer, Mississippi Mud is not too bad tasting. Only problem is that it gives me the Hershey Squirts. Maybe too much at one time?
Bvamp 604
for the record, the best beer is the kind you make from stuff you grow.......
