reoiv 1
I was browsing Cheaper than dirt and saw they have brand new wood sets for the CETME/HK91/G3 for 10 dollars. I am going to try to slap the CETME handguard and butt stock on my Saiga 308. Any of you guys tried this?
MD_Willington 11
I have seen CETME/G3 handguards on Kalashnikov rifles before, haven't tried it my self though...
ClickClickD'oh 1
I have a synthetic G3 handguard on my .308-1. You are going to have to use a 1" boreing bit to open it up enough to fit over the base of the barrel. I cut the back of the handguard back far enough to create the tongue that fits into the reciever on the original handguard so I could bolt it into place. Haven't tried a butt stock though. reoiv 1
Here you go. I'm thinking about cutting it back to the the gas block. That looks slick as hell man. Leave it long I like the Solid stock on the back. I'm going to see if I can just do some threaded inserts into the CETME wood stock and use that on the ACE folder mechanism. I'll post pics when I finish it. Stock parts should get here tomorrow.

MD_Willington 11
WoW.. that does look pretty damn fine... So how is it attached it at the front?
ClickClickD'oh 1
It's not attached at the front, nor is the normal .308-1 handguard. .308-1 handguards are attached at the rear. Though, there is a slightly longer than normal crosspin in the gasblock that wedges itself into the hanguard pretty snuggly.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Looking forward to seeing one in wood. The synthetic looks nice and ten bucks is super cheap.
